Coldplay overcame first night nerves at the opening of their US tour last week - when Chris Martin forgot his lines onstage.

 

The singer stumbled while singing Til' Kindgom Come - a hidden track on their new album X&Y - in Hartford, Connecticut, on Thursday night.

 

Martin joked to fans afterwards, "Oh, now you'll get us voted off American Idol."

 

The singer also struggled with the heat onstage and had to make a number of costume changes, which prompted the comment, "We're getting close to a Celine Dion concert. If you want a refund for all the sweat you've seen tonight, you get 50 cents for each litre that comes off us."
