Q. Could you tell us how are going the production of the new album? I'm so anxious about it. Please, don't leave out Songbird and See You Soon if you could, ok? Say to Chris that I love him more than anything. Thanks Oracle
The Oracle replies:
See You Soon was released in 1999 on the The Blue Room EP and Songbird is an Oasis song that Coldplay covered live years ago; there's no way that either of these songs will appear on the next album. I'll leave it to Roadie #42 to fill you in on how it's going in the studio and am sure there'll be an update pretty soon!

Q. Hi Oracle, Is the video description true? Tanks, Elliott
The Oracle replies:
This video is NOT from a potential DVD; it's from a Brazilian TV special that took place before the Latin America tour. The live footage is from Barcelona (filmed by Hamish Hamilton). There was also an interview.June 3, 2010 - submitted by Stacey, United Kingdom
Q. Hi Oracle, I was hoping to buy some new music during the summer. However, I am at a loss as to what to buy. I'm really into Mumford & Sons at the moment, could you suggest someone or a band with a similar sound? Thanks Oracle!
The Oracle replies:
Today's glorious sunshine is making me very lazy so I am going to cheat with an app on my iPhone that I like - Tastekid (it's free!) All I do is type in favourite music (or films/books) and it suggests similar that I may also like. When I tapped in Mumford & Sons (which to confess, I already had out of curiosity) it suggested the following:
Temper Trap
The Drums
Marina And The Diamonds
Laura Marling
Johnny Flynn
The Middle East
Delphic
Ellie Goulding
Two Door Cinema Club
Bombay Bicycle Club
Yves Klein Blue
Emmy The Great
Eight Legs
Noah And The Whale
Local Natives

Q. Hi Oracle, I was listening to the Viva La Vida album for probably the millionth time, and I was wondering why Lost? was on the album when it already had Lost! It seems like it would have made more sense to put it on, say, Prospekt's March, or LRLRL. Thanks! P.S. USA misses Coldplay!
The Oracle replies:
Lost? was only available as a bonus track on the Japanese and iTunes release so wasn't on the original album format; we don't include the bonuses in our Recordings section. There was another version, Lost+ available on Prospekt's March - as you are probably aware.

Q. Is the first picture in the Exhibition Room not the Metric album, Fantasies?
The Oracle replies:
That's right, it's NOT! Nothing like it mate!

Q. Dear Oracle, I need some advice. I'm moving in 5 weeks across the country. I'm leaving all my extended family and friends. I'm not worried about my destination... I'm not worried about making new friends... but how do I make it through these next 5 weeks??? My friends want to throw a going-away party but I'm afraid I'd cry the whole time (happy and sad tears). The tears just come at random times. How can I keep from falling apart? How do I make it through an emotional 5 weeks without being emotional the whole time? I have hope... I don't think all is lost... I just need to make it through these short 5 weeks... for me, my hubby and my 5 kids. Any and all advice is much appreciated. I hope you're enjoying your sunny weather over there! We're quite jealous over here in Oregon! ~Carrie
The Oracle replies:
Well Carrie I guess you'll have a lot to occupy you in the next 5 weeks what with packing and seeing family and friends before you leave. Maybe while you're packing you could see if there are any items you'd like to gift to people rather than take so you know they'll always think of you when they use it/read it/listen to it or whatever. It's a lovely idea to have a party but if you do, focus on the happy tears because this goodbye doesn't have to mean Adieu (until God) but Au revoir (until we see each other again). You'll always have your memories but take lots of pictures of everyone and everything to take with you. You could make an album with your children. You could also get your and their friends to write a message in a book of a favourite memory; don't read it until you are in your new place or it really will set those tears off! You're about to start a whole new journey that you can share with those left behind via webcam chats, phone calls, emails and/ or letters with photos. It'll be an adventure for all of you! Good luck! By the way, today is sunny but yesterday it did not stop persisting it down all day and was cold with it!!

Q. How come you very rarely play Gravity? In my opinion that is the most beautiful number written ever!!! I'm sure it also has a lot of feelings connected to it, as I'm sure you simply can't write something that beautiful without deep feelings...
The Oracle replies:
Once the single was released by Embrace it was more their song than Coldplay's even though it is theirs originally of course. I'm pretty sure they haven't played Gravity live since 2002 apart from a brief time in 2005. Around that time it was performed live, recorded and released as a b-side for the single Talk.

Q. What do you think about our ESC winner Lena? =) Best regards from Germany
The Oracle replies:
Well, I have to say it's a great little pop song and one million times (if not more) better than the worst UK entry for some time which wholeheartedly deserved to bomb and come last. This country has so much musical talent and we end of with that excrement? Baffling. Anyway I do have a comment to make about the whole Eurovision Song Contest winner... Lena's song was available as a download back in March and has been number one in Germany, Austria and Switzerland as well as appearing on iTunes charts all across Europe - including Ireland. I think that is a massive advantage as it's already a huge hit. It was a deserved winner even though in my opinion I think it's time for a complete overhaul as it was pretty dreadful as usual.
