Gwyneth Paltrow 'Expecting Second Child'

chrisgwyneth1.jpgGwyneth Paltrow’s publicist refused to confirm reports that the actress was pregnant with her second child.

Paltrow’s mother, actress Blythe Danner, reportedly let slip that she was going to be a grandmother again at a media awards ceremony in Los Angeles. Her publicist said last night: “We have no comment to make. If and when she is pregnant and they want to come out with an announcement, they will do so.”

Paltrow, 33 and her huband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, 28, already have a 16-month daughter, Apple. The pair met in London in 2002 and tied the knot in California in December 2003. There has been various speculation in recent weeks that the pair were expecting their second child.

When Miss Danner, 62, was asked whether she was going to be a grandmother again, she immediately replied: “Yes, I am,” according to the Daily Mail. The paper said she then added: “Well, I think so. I have not checked lately.”

US magazine Star has reported that the family’s latest addition is expected in the spring and that it was probably conceived backstage during one of Coldplay’s summer festival gigs in the UK. It quoted a friend as saying that if the baby was a boy, Paltrow wanted to name him after her father, film director Bruce Paltrow, who died in 2002.
