Le Chardon is far removed from the cheap and cheerful (ie basic and cramped) end of the market. It offers the high levels of comfort and service demanded by well-heeled skiers, and since 1995 has played host to corporate clients from investment banks, as well as families from more than 50 countries. It was also pleasing to learn, as Charlie the chalet girl poured us another glass of champagne, that Le Chardon had celeb visitors last year in the form of millionaire rock stars Coldplay.
