Korn will perform at the fifth annual MTV Asia Awards, set to take place May 6 in Bangkok, Thailand. In addition, the band has received a nomination in the "Favorite Video" category for their "Twisted Transistor" clip. Other artists receiving nods include Green Day, My Chemical Romance, Franz Ferdinand, Gorillaz, Coldplay, Fort Minor and Oasis.
Korn guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer recently told Billboard.com that he and Korn vocalist Jonathan Davis have already written five new tracks for the band's next album. While he wouldn't divulge song titles, he did say the material is in the vein of "See You on the Other Side" tracks "Love Song" and "Coming Undone". Recording isn't expected to get underway until late 2006 or early 2007. A full-length version of Korn'a latest video, "Coming Undone", has been posted online at this location. The song comes off the band's seventh studio album, "See You on the Other Side", which has sold 752,000 copies since its December 6 release, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Korn kicked off the North American leg of their 2006 world tour late last month in the band's hometown of Bakersfield, California. The trek, which also features Mudvayne and 10 Years, will finish up on April 4 in Toronto, Canada.
