The concept of the video is the loss of a loved one, manifested in a fatal car accident. The video actually starts with the crash and works it's way in rewind fashion to portray Chris and girlfriend at the start of their journey.
Chris had to learn the song backwards, so that his lip synching matches the lyrics of the song.
