T In The Park Record In 2006 Tickets Rush

Advance sales for next year's T in the Park festival broke all previous records yesterday, when 25,000 tickets were sold in less than three hours.

Music fans inundated the festival's hotlines with calls to get a ticket for next year's event, without even knowing the line-up. The first 20,000 tickets released for T in the Park 2006 went on sale at 9am and sold out before 11:30am. An extra 5,000 were sold by noon.

Last year, it took just under a month for 20,000 advance tickets to be sold. This contrasts with four years ago, when the festival only sold out in the weeks before it took place. However, the cancellation of Glastonbury next year means the festival will be the biggest single music event in Britain.
