Coldplay on BBC Radio 1 playlist & new ASFOS advert

Coldplay on BBC Radio 1 playist

Coldplay's 3rd single from Ghost Stories, True Love has been added to the BBC Radio 1 playlist in the UK for the upcoming week commencing 18th August. Every Coldplay song released as a single has been added to the BBC Radio 1 playlist and very few have failed to make the A-List. The Hardest Part, Strawberry Swing and Life In Technicolor ii were the few which reached only the B-list.

Below, you will see the list of Coldplay's recent runs within the Radio 1 playlist since Atlas in 2013. Atlas, taken from The Hunger Games : Catching Fire soundtrack currently holds the all time record for the amount of weeks spent on the B list (8).

As expected, A Sky Full of Stars has been Coldplay's biggest hit from Ghost Stories so far on worldwide radio. Will True Love better the 2nd single within the world of the charts? Being a polar opposite to the popular EDM influenced track suggests it won't but the 'unconventional' single may surprise a few. We will see over the coming weeks and the upcoming acrobat inspired official video will have a large say!

    New ASFOS advert

Continuing with the BBC link, the British broadcasters have released a very interesting advert/commercial involving A Sky Full of Stars and Chris Evans (unconvincingly) humming the upbeat song to the puzzled expressions of his colleagues. Mr Jools Holland eventually made sense of it and the BBC dropped a new plug to Coldplay's uplifting anthem. (thanks to our mod, Black Rose)

That's not the only time Mr Evans has been featured on such an ad. The other Chris has previously attempted Trouble on the piano on a BBC Radio 2 advert!

The other obvious link is Fearne Cotton who interviewed the whole band for the Making of Ghost Stories on Sky Arts in the UK. Watch the two parts if you haven't already, here : Part 1 and Part 2.
