Coldplay on The Voice USA - Ghostly illusions!
The final show of The Voice USA took place late last night on NBC and Coldplay were one of the live features of the show. Chris Martin appeared as an adviser to contestants on the show earlier on in the series through 3 episodes. The humour we love Chris for made Chris a very popular figure on the show and there were no doubts the producers of the show would pull out all stops to get Coldplay to play on the final show!
I'm sure most of us remember Chris' funny comments on the show such as when referring to Miley Cyrus, "Does she twerk in that song"?! Below is a video which seems to have passed most of us by in between the appearances by Chris on the show and the pre Ghost Stories build up. More hilarious Chris moments, enjoy!

Now, for Coldplay's performance on the show last night in which they played A Sky Full of Stars! The very interesting illusion show at the beginning sprung a surprise with a dark, ghostly stage and a screen of each band member playing an instrument including Will Champion playing the tambourine and the drums at the same time (a man of endless talents!) until the main explosive chorus arrives to which all 4 band members playing live became apparent and had much of the audience jumping up and down in excitement! Watch the brilliant performance of A Sky Full of Stars below!

This performance has boosted A Sky Full of Stars to #8 on the iTunes chart from just below the top 10 overnight!
Midweek chart update (UK, partly US)
Yesterday, as you may have seen on our Facebook and Twitter page, Ghost Stories had sold 82,400 copies on its first day on sale in the UK which included a lot of pre-orders. After two days, Coldplay have sold 105,800 copies of Ghost Stories which is an absolutely great achievement for the band. In this declining sales climate, the new album would be considered a huge success if it even matches the sales of Mylo Xyloto which itself did not sell as well as Coldplay's previous effort before that, Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends. Mylo Xyloto at the same point within 2 days of sale had sold 122,508 copies. Mylo Xyloto went on that week to sell 208,090 copies.
Thank you very much to the great music forum, Buzzjack for sourcing the information below
So can Ghost Stories match Mylo Xyloto's first week sales in the UK? Because the figures for the first two days are lower, its unlikely but it is possible as Coldplay are due to play on the Radio 1's Big Weekend in Glasgow this Saturday which can create a late boost for the album. Another big factor emerged this afternoon when Google play announced Ghost Stories is available at a lower price of £4.99! 7Digital has followed with the same price and with pretty much the same value in the US too at $6.99!!
Coldplayers worldwide will be pleased to know that Ghost Stories has reached #1 in over 100 iTunes stores worldwide! For US fans, Ghost Stories is expected to sell just under 400k by the end of the week (no official figures yet!), just slightly short of the 447,000 sold for Mylo Xyloto in the first week!
