Ghost Stories artwork exhibition in London this December!

    Coldplay Ghost Stories Exhibition

The Ghost Stories artwork exhibition, announced by Coldplay and the Czech born artist, Mila Fürstová who has created the artwork we have seen throughout the 'Ghost Stories' will be on the way to London this December for fans to gaze upon!

The works on display will be up for sale, with the money raised going to Kids Company, the long term Coldplay supported group who work with vulnerable youngsters in Bristol and London. Coldplay have been donated to the registered charity which is 'close to their hearts' since 2007 and have donated over £1 million (est $1.6m) each year since 2009, according to reports. The latest exhibition is another way (like the Under1roof shows) for the band to give further to this special organisation.

The address of the venue where the exhibition will be held at is : 17 Osborn St, Shoreditch, London, E1 6TD and will be open to the general public from the 4th-7th December. Feel free to let us know if you are going! Albumartists.co.uk have confirmed on our forums (thanks guys!) that this exhibition has free entry.

The exhibition will include the original etchings that became the art for the album, as well as never before seen drawings and other interesting materials that Coldplay and Mila used in the album art development.

Government funding cut for Kids Company

Unfortunately, some bad news was recently revealed for the future of the wonderful organisation. The UK government has cut back on funding to the charity, resulting in Kids Company, who employs 563 trained staff to plan for possible closure. This is taking into account Coldplay's donation of £1.3 million this year, which founder, Camila Batmanghelidjh had to ask for in advance just to pay the bills. She commented (from the London Evening Standard) :

She said: “I can only sustain it until the end of the year. There’s no way I’m going to continue without proper government funding.”

She said she was frustrated she had to “beg on behalf of society” for funding to deal with problems that should be paid for from public funds.

    Ghost Stories artwork for sale!

However, all hope is not lost. The Ghost Stories artwork at the exhibition this December will be for sale, with all proceeds going to the Kids Company. Fingers crossed, this will help a great deal! Albumartists.co.uk previews a listing of items for sale at the exhibition
