Q. Hello Oracle, Who is on the cover of the Safety EP? Thanks, Ethan:-)
The Oracle replies:
If you go to the Archive section or search through Interviews, you will find an article on the Safety EP cover art. The answer to your question is in the article also.

Q. I know you've responded to 9 questions thus far referring to the B-Side The World Turned Upside Down, but I just wanted to take a stab a guessing what the mystery lyric is, because I think I finally figured it out. My guess is that it's: "Searching the meadow well it's ecstasy (ah ah)." Thank you and have a wonderful day! -D
The Oracle replies:
As I mentioned before, Chris doesn't even know what he's saying so it's not a mystery that's due to be solved anytime soon despite multiple guesswork from all over - including my own that as you know was initially what started this particular ball rolling when deciphering lyrics for the website's lyric section quite a few years ago. I'm pretty sure it's not what you suggest but most of us seem to think the first part is "searching your mellow".

Q. Hey Oracle! I'm in a major problem. The thing is that for my birthday a friend gifted me a Limited Edition of the Coldplay cd's, (from Parachutes to VLV) which, was kind of a little bit expensive. For my surprise my family gifted me the same package of cd's. What should I do? Gift them to someone else? Also, I don't have enough space to place EIGHT cd's. Thanks in advance!!
The Oracle replies:
Ooh aren't you lucky? That's a nice problem to have - sort of. Well, you could sell one set on. Or you could gift it. Or you could explain to your family & friend what's happened and ask if they'd be ok with you exchanging the CDs for something else. These things happen and I'm sure they'll understand. There is no point keeping both sets as they're not collector's items.

Q. Hello Oracle, we've got a strange question :) does Chris was riding on a bike around National Stadium in Warsaw during Coldplay's visit in Poland last year 19.09.2012 ?? Thanks for answer, it's really important to us :) Love, Ilona and Przemek.
The Oracle replies:
I'm not sure but it's possible. There are bikes backstage to make it easier to get around but it's not usually the band riding them. That doesn't mean that on the odd occasion they haven't. I'll ask around but it may not bring further answers. FYI the bikes were painted bright graffiti colours.

Q. Hello Oracle, I managed to get two tickets for Under 1 Roof (I can't wait). However, I was wondering if you know what the band will be wearing? Will it be Mylo Xyloto related or Lp 6 related? I have my own MX jacket I have made, I wore it to their gig last year and I was going to wear it again if they were going to 'suit up' as well :) Many thanks, Harvey
The Oracle replies:
I think you should wear it regardless though as it's been 2 years since the end of the MX tour, I very much doubt the band will be wearing their MX outfits for the charity show.

Q. Hi Oracle! Do you recognize us when we have asked something more than one time? Also, Will you ever tell us who you are? Viva Coldplay! Saludos, gracias!
The Oracle replies:
Although I pay attention to names, it doesn't influence me as it's likely that there is more than one person with the same name from the same country. Obviously if somebody says, "Thanks for answering my question, I have another"... The thing is, I try to only reply to one Q per person to make it fair. Occasionally I will see someone has sent two and edit it to show both and reply to both. It's hard to ignore a great question regardless. (No).

Q. I went to see Catching Fire last weekend and heard an instrumental version of Atlas in the middle of the movie. Is it recorded by Coldplay? And is there a full version? Thanks
The Oracle replies:
James Newton Howard scored the film and - as I have mentioned here previously - the incidental music featuring components of Atlas is called We’re A Team. It doesn't appear to be on The Hunger Games: Catching Fire – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack.

Q. When Phil Harvey wanted all the postcards sent in, it said to include your address as one lucky person gets a bunch of Coldplay merchandise; has this person already been chosen? Thank you:)
The Oracle replies:

Q. Hello Oracle, I have never been in a serious relationship but I think I am falling for one of my good friends. The problem is, he has a girlfriend. I know I should probably just ignore my feelings but I have never felt the way I do around him before. I'm scared that if I don't do anything he'll forget about me. I just have this feeling that we are meant to be together and I think he feels it too. What should I do?
The Oracle replies:
Personally I think you should do nothing - he has a girlfriend. If you think he feels the same, it's up to him to do something about it. The reason I say this is trust is a fundamental part of a relationship. If you two start something or behave inappropriately behind his girlfriend's back, chances are IF you ever get together, you'll have mistrust from the start. Perhaps what you could do is walk away and tell him that you're giving him space to work out his feelings. You don't want to get hurt so put some distance between you and see what his next move is. If it's meant to be, he'll come to you.

Q. I have a Scientist single DVD, but the cover is black, and on the website, under recordings, the cover is white, and I know that the white one is a cd. Was it only released in certain countries? (Also, when I put it in my DVD player, it said it couldn't play because of limitations, does that have to do with the whole releasing thing?) Much appreciation! Have a great day!
The Oracle replies:
The website is showing the CD, not the DVD and its sleeve is white. The DVD cover is black - as you know. DVDs are released according to regions. If you're in the USA (region 1) trying to watch a European release (region 2) you'll have problems. Depending on where you live will depend on what DVD will play, though there are DVD players that allow you to watch region 0 which is almost region free.

Q. Hi Oracle, Wasn't today's (Nov 25) Hypnofeed beautiful? Was wondering if you've ever had the delight of hot-air ballooning? If not, add it to your bucket list - amazing! Cheers then! Sandy
The Oracle replies:
Already done. It was a great experience but it only dawned on me when I caught a glimpse of the balloon's shadow below that you don't see the balloon in its full majesty as you're in it! Loved it though.

Q. Hellow. Have you heard
The Oracle replies:
Underneath the 'submit a question', you'll see a search box. Type 'so sad' into that and you'll find out more about it. There are recordings of this & their earlier songs but that gig wasn't recorded.

Q. Greetings Oracle! So... I've been to many a few Coldplay concerts and it just occurred to me, what do the boys do after they're done performing? Are they totally exhausted and ready to hit the sack, or are they pumped with adrenaline and extremely energised? It seems so crazy to play as much as they do consecutive nights in a row. I remember one show Chris changed his shirt because he was sweating so badly. How do they not lose their hearing due to the extreme loudness? My dad always gets mad at me for not wearing plugs to a concert for the fear that it will ruin my hearing haha, but I just can't imagine what the band is actually going through and how the music may affect their own. Also, it seems like performing at concerts is a good workout... haha! Chris jumps and sweats like a maniac! Hats off for him - he's incredible, as well as Jonny, Guy and Will. It wouldn't be Coldplay without 'em! Cheers, Pieta
The Oracle replies:
The first thing they do is get out of their sweaty stage clothes. Their adrenalin is running high when they come off stage so they don't go straight to bed. They travel back home or to their hotel and at the latter there sometimes may be a late supper. The sound onstage is totally different to what comes out of the speakers to the audience. The guys wear in-ear monitors to not only give a mix of what's going on but to provide a good level of noise reduction. As I said in the previous answer, ear protection is very important. Your dad is right, get yourself a pair of earplugs and wear them.

Q. Dear Oracle, Wearing earplugs at concerts, yeah or nay?
The Oracle replies:
Absolutely yes. There are all different varieties ranging from very inexpensive foam ones to pricey bespoke ones. I have a reasonable pair that just take the top end off but protect my hearing from noise damage. I take them to every gig whether a small venue or a stadium. I am very much an advocate for wearing them so do take your ear health & safety as seriously as you would other body part.
