    Q. Hi Oracle, Between the 29th of November and the 2nd of December Coldplay's graffiti MX artwork is being displayed in London. I just want to know, will the boys be present? Thanks, Jack :)

    The Oracle replies:

The band will not be there for the 4 days the exhibition is on, no.

It will be well worth the visit and once again supporting an amazing cause.

    Q. Dear Oracle. Can I do a completly non-profit version of "The Scientist" for a school assembely? (I am a student) I really want to do this, but I have to ask for permission first. Thanks for answering!

    The Oracle replies:

Who said you have to ask permission? You don't. You can sing/perform what you like. By the way - I'm surprised people who set the tasks don't already know this - signed bands / songwriters do not own copyright to their songs so cannot grant permission. You'd have to get in touch with the Label & Publisher if that were the case.October 18, 2012 - submitted by Tzukeet, New Zealand

    Q. Hi Oracle, I'm currently listening to Don't Panic, and wanted to ask if the high voice singing with Chris during the first chorus is one of Chris's children? Is this right? Thank you! :)

    The Oracle replies:

Given that the song was written 6 years before Chris' first child arrived - no, it's not. It's actually Chris singing falsetto with Jonny singing the lower vocal.

    Q. Hey O, I was wondering, on the picture of the graffiti wall you can see Will,Jonny,Guy and? Chris or Paris? It's hard to see and Chris doesn't have that much curls nowadays. I would be grateful for your answer! Greetings from Holland

    The Oracle replies:

I agree it's hard to see and hard to tell who is who. It could be anyone! It's not though; it's Chris, Will, Jonny & Guy - left to right.

    Q. Hello, you mentioned the projection in the Fix You video and I read that the blocks that are being projected is code? So I was wondering what are the blocks saying in the background?

    The Oracle replies:

The projection (on the National Theatre, South Bank) says Make Trade Fair.

    Q. Hey Oracle! I was just wondering with the pictures of the dolls in different places all over the world (from the Viva era), Did Coldplay actually visit the places and who took the photos? Thanks. Can't wait to see you guys in Nov! x

    The Oracle replies:

Do you mean the puppets? The puppets went on tour with the band so everywhere they went, so did they. The photos were taken at every place the band played. Trainer Dan took almost all of the photos but I took a couple. I took the one from Rio de Janeiro - that wasn't exciting due to the adverse weather conditions meaning we couldn't get to Christ the Redeemer and my favourite one ever in Mexico City where they met up with puppet pals.

    Q. Dear Oracle, In the Fix You music video, when Chris is walking in the middle of the road, in the third verse, there is an X&Y advertisment on a sign in the background. Was that intentional? Please answer my question! I won't stop asking until you do (It would save you a lot of time)!

    The Oracle replies:

It's not an advert; it was a deliberate projection. p.s I don't often do as I am told so that didn't sway my decision to answer but since you brought it up, re-sending questions is not the best way to get a response ;-)

    Q. Heya Oracle, I saw this video of Coldplay performing in Japan from 2008. I have two questions. 1 : What was Chris saying in the beginning of the video? I assume it was Japanese. 2 : In the video there was a clip of them playing violins and cellos. Do they really know how to play those instruments? Thanks Oracle!

    The Oracle replies:

    1. I'm afraid I have no idea as I don't understand Japanese but yes, it was Japanese as he spoke quite a bit of it during that show (Summer Sonic, 2008).

    2. They weren't actually playing the instruments in that clip but Will is our multi-instrumentalist. He started playing the piano & violin when he was 8, guitar at 12 and finally drums at 21 - yes, really!

    Q. Is it true that Chris will be a judge for The Voice Australia? It would be great, but it sounds unrealistic to me. Thanks!

    The Oracle replies:

As far as I can tell, the show drew up a wish list and it seems Chris was on it. I think because the band are due to tour Australia soon, they were hoping it may work out but no, it's not true at all.
