I think the possibility that the scar is from a surgery can be scratched out... Incisionary scars look different, it wouldn't be broken up like that... it'd look a bit neater--and I don't know what kind of surgery has an incision on the side of the throat like that. It glances across his trachea and his external carotid artery... 0_o I think it's most likely a rash, or a hypotrophic scar from an injury...
