I'm sorry sarah :( I've lost several pets, but the hardest was the first dog my family had (after I was born) Recently we had a cat put down..... but to me a dog is something different..... There really is no secret coping mechanism. With another puppy we had that was hit by a car, the only thing I could do was tell myself not to cry, and I didn't... But I've learned that that isn't coping. Just let your feelings tell you how to feel. It helps me to forget when you are happy, and to remember when you are sad. Recently I've had to cope with someone who left me, in the same way. Don't try to push back your feelings, good or bad. The first day or two will be bad for a while. Then something will make you laugh, hopefully.

imagine at the customs place, they open the package and read "bert and ernie sex tapes" hahahaha
