I'll start, i live in a place in the south-east of Spain, called Cartagena.

He have a long History. It was founded in 227 B.C. by the carthaginian general Asdrúbal. and we were called Qart Hadast, but there are rest of previous cultures. It was coquered by Publio Corneli Escipion, in 209 B.C. Since 44 B.C is was called Nova Carthago and was a colony of Rome, we were important because our mines and our port rounded by hills, and we had a lake.

In 555 a.c. the emperor Justiniano made us the capital of Spania provicence (the south east of Spain, from Malaga to Cartagena). Since VII century we were conquered by visigothics.

Since 734 we were part of Cora de Tudmir a province of muslism.

In 1245 the Prince Alfonso (later known as Alfonso X), conquered the city.

Since 1728 a lot of military buildings were built (fortess, castles, the wall of the port.

During the XIX century we were important because our mines again, and rich people built modernist houses.

We were an idependent "state" during 1873 because of the Cantonal Revolution, but that was during only a year.

Some people related to Cartagena are: the writer Arturo Perez- Reverte; Miguel de Cervantes, he even wrote some lines about our city; a theatre actor called Maiquez, and the engeneer Isaac Peral.
