More photos have emerged over the past 48 hours from the Princess of China music video set, which was recorded in Los Angeles over two days this week, which Coldplay have been shooting with Rihanna. Not only that, some websites are saying that the single will be released in June so the video may be released sometime around then. The photos, of extras involved in the video along with Chris Martin were discovered via the Facebook page of actor/stuntman Marcus Natvidad and also, more recently, an

It's all happening on the Mylo Xylotour at the moment. Just ten shows in and already plently of scandal, controversy (not Coldplay's fault of course) and celebrity at some of the early shows for the media to get their teeth into. Remember the slasher news story in Calgary that turned out to be a couple of guys fighting in the concourse near some broken glass... well this week two or three more stories have emerged in relation to recent shows. The tour is certainly bringing about a lot of media a

Black may be the new, erm, black, but it’s how you wear it that matters. Liam Gallagher managed to be the picture of cool yesterday when he stepped out of a recording studio in Ealing, West London. But Chris Martin looked totally stupid in similarly dark gear, wearing his cap backwards as Coldplay arrived in Perth, Australia, ahead of a concert. Judging by Liam’s rude gesture, he must’ve seen the picture of Chris. Source: http://www.thesun.co.uk

Greenhouse-gas emissions are clogging up the atmosphere. Children are forced to work in mines using dangerous machinery. Tomatoes are being modified to look more tomatoey. One night you get fed up. You can't just watch everything go down the tubes. It's time to take a stand; every choice you make tomorrow will be environmentally friendly and socially responsible. It's a very chic goal. Coldplay's Chris Martin would be proud. His band is featured on Sound Environment, two CDs whose proceeds

Back when actor Zach Braff of the medical sitcom "Scrubs" was shopping around a movie project, he sent out a screenplay that he'd written and, with it, a mix CD of songs he wanted to use in certain scenes. The story, as told in show-business circles, is that several studio executives tossed the script and kept the CD. As if tipping his hat, Braff wound up using a typically wistful Simon and Garfunkel song, "The Only Living Boy in New York," on his soundtrack. Rock band Coldplay, the late Eng

One is a ruthless, ambitious, super-rich, music industry mogul who is not afraid to trample on other people's feelings to get to the top. The other is a ruthlessly ambitious, super-rich, music industry mogul who is not afraid to trample on other people's feelings to get to the top. So it should come as little surprise that pop impresarios Simon Fuller and Simon Cowell [pictured] should find themselves on opposing sides in a £100m legal battle. Yet while they are rivals, they are also old pals

An interview with Coldplay's Chris Martin & Ricky Gervais in the recent Q Magazine: How will Coldplay develop? You've mentioned you'd like to work with Timbaland. RG: What, the boots people? CM: Yeah, the people who make boots. RG: Bruce Foxton's got a brand new pair of Timberlands. CM: Yeah, I thought what we need to do next is a CD that comes in a pair of durable walking boots, so you can listen to it when you're hiking. RG: You're going for the working class vote now aren't you? [Thinks

With just one day to go before the biggest night in British music and the line up of performers is out. Kaiser Chiefs will kick off the Brits with I Predict A Riot, with a strong rumour that Prince will perform a medley of his greatest hits. Coldplay are singing Square One, followed by James Blunt and Kelly Clarkson. KT Tunstall, Kanye West, Jack Johnson and Gorillaz will also take to the stage before Paul Weller closes proceedings with a collection of his favourite songs. Source: http://w

The success of Coldplay has done funny things to some of their peers. Snow Patrol, for one, discarded their previous identity as indie underachievers, got epic, and reaped the rewards. Now Feeder, Britain's mild-mannered hard rockers, and Athlete, a pleasantly slipshod outfit recently nominated for the Mercury Prize, have evidently decided that a few pianos and some uplifting melancholy could be just what their longevity and balance sheets require. In Feeder's case, you could see it coming.

500 million songs on the iTunes Music Store marks a dramatic acceleration of the purchase of legally downloadable music on the Internet. And the music fan who purchases that song will receive a prize that's just as dramatic - a trip for you and three guests to see Coldplay on its current tour, with front-row seats, and "back-stage" passes for a meet 'n' greet with the band; ten iPods for yourself and family or friends; a gold 10,000-song gift card for the music store; and ten 50-song gift card

In an attempt to push past the 500m barrier, Apple offered a top prize of ten iPods, a 10,000-song iTunes gift card and an all-expenses paid trip for four to see Coldplay live to the person who downloaded the 500 millionth song. Coldplay fans are very observant, any sort of developments are quickly picked up on. Jonny could have slightly heavier stubble than normal, Phil Harvey could of been spotted buying Easter eggs in Tesco but it was none of those (today anyway!). BiggerStronger on our forums was doing the usual check up on the ITunes tracklist (as you do!) for Ghost Stories and spotted the new track lengths for Midnight, Another's Arms and A Sky Full of Stars. Firstly, it immediately came to mind that Midn

Coldplay was the hottest iTunes album download this year: Its "Viva la Vida" was crowned the best-selling album of 2008, while Leona Lewis's "Bleeding Love" was named the top-selling single. Coldplay's CD has sold more than 2 million copies since its release in June, and has sold more than 500,000 copies digitally—most of which was through iTunes, according to the band's representative. ITunes does not release its sales figures, its spokesman said in releasing its list on Monday. Jack Johns

If first impressions are everything, then consider "Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends" a CD your boom box will absolutely be in love with when it's released next month. From the eye-popping Eugène Delacroix cover art to the pleading synth-piano of the disc's closing hidden track - "The Escapist" - Coldplay have assembled another existentialist page-turner. Like every other Coldplay record, "Viva la Vida" flits between soaring U2-like guitar riffs and slick power ballads, full of front

Jamelia has covered Coldplay as part of her performance at V Festival. The singer performed in the JJB Arena at Hylands Park, Chelmsford on Saturday (August 21). Jamelia famously collaborated with Chris Martin on her recent single 'See It In A Boy's Eyes'. During her set she covered Coldplay’s 'Clocks'. She told the crowd: "You may know I wrote a song with Chris Martin. Well Coldplay are one of my favourite acts and now I’m going to play a song that I wish I'd written myself." A fan at the g

They might be popstars but music was not what was on their minds when the two of them got chatting. Instead the conversation veered to the apple of their eyes - their kids. According to rate the music, British R and B sensation Jamelia gave baby advice to Coldplay singer Chris Martin who recently turned father to his baby girl Apple. Jamelia is also mom to three-year-old Teeja but incidentally she had no idea that Chris's wife Gwyneth Paltrow was expecting their first child at the time.

She may be Birmingham-born, but R&B starlet Jamelia is no fan of the pork pie. "My family was into Rastafarianism when I was young and they tell you all these things that pigs do that make you never ever want to eat pork. But I don't want to say what they are because I don't want to be putting millions of people off pork," she says, expressing a fear of ruining the Australian pork industry. Jamelia is in Australia to promote her latest album Thank You, which features the number one single,

British R+B beauty Jamelia is more surprised than anyone that her new single is a collaboration with Chris Martin - as she had no idea he wanted to work with her. The singer was astonished when she was told Chris wanted them to record the track 'See It In A Boy's Eyes' together and was convinced the offer was a joke. She explains, "The day before Chris called the label I'd been speaking to my A+R man, and he was going, 'What ideas have you got for me?' "I told him I wanted to do some crazy

Have you noticed how rising singer-songwriter James Morrison looks like a cross between James Blunt and Coldplay's Chris Martin? Morrison’s single and album have gone straight in at No1 in the iTunes chart. The album, Undiscovered, is out next week and is a sure contender for top spot in the main chart. There isn’t a bad track on it. Read the full article here [Thanks Lauraloo82]

James Blunt's Back To Bedlam has overtaken Coldplay's X&Y to become the UK's biggest-selling album of the year so far. Blunt [pictured] has sold 1,526,000 copies - 2,000 more than Coldplay - and is currently at number two in the album chart. The debut album has topped the chart across Europe and produced the hit single You're Beautiful. It is an extraordinary success story for Blunt, 28, an Old Harrovian and former member of the Household Cavalry. He was recently voted Best New Act at t

Indie sensation Feist, vocal goddess Jann Arden and hip hop legend Kardinal Offishall [pictured] are just some of the talented Canadian artists who will present at this year's Juno Awards in Halifax. Born in Amherst, N.S., raised in Calgary, and living in Toronto (before her move to Paris), Feist is no stranger to Canada's great landscape. The talented singer-songwriter-guitarist took home two Junos last year for best new artist and best alternative album for her 2004 record, Let It Die. Th
