Coldplay returned to the American Music Awards for the first time in seven years last night, as they delivered a funky performance of 'Adventure Of A Lifetime'. A group of monkey backup dancers also joined them on stage (one of which was Ellen DeGeneres).   The British band were introduced on stage by Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy, where they not only amazed the crowd with the funky moves on stage but Xyloballs (as seen at #TIDALXColdplay) were bouncing around, with confetti falling down from the

Will Champion and Guy Berryman both appeared on Steve Lamacq's afternoon show today on BBC6Music where they spent time discussing their forthcoming Glastonbury appearance and, perhaps more pertinently for the fans, the fifth album. The Sun today rounded-up Coldplay news nicely with an article that continues the Universal publishing deal theme as well as a little insight into what has been happening between recording sessions. Here's what they had to say earlier today:   Coldplay have never been in better shape - financially or physically. Except for frontman Chris Martin's ankle injury, that is, after I showed him on his holibags in the US yesterday wearing a protective boot. The band have just signed a huge publishing dea

The British media will get their turn at casting their eye on Coldplay's awards performance this time next week when they head to the Brits in London on 21 February, but the last 24 hours have seen the US papers go over Coldplay and Rihanna's Grammy's medley with a fine tooth comb. Some are even suggesting that Willie Nelson's cover of The Scientist that was shown in the commercial break right after Coldplay had finished was the best Grammy performance of the night! Below are just a selection of

If the Recording Academy has its way, the Grammy Awards will be seen as much more than an annual awards show: It will be a brand that represents musical achievement year-round.   In the last three years, the academy has revamped its Grammy sponsorship strategy, moving from one-year financial commitments to long-term deals with companies that have music-focused marketing efforts, says Evan Greene, chief marketing officer of the academy.   "We bring a good degree of instant credibility to brands

More mixed reviews of Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends have hit the headlines today. Here's a Coldplaying recap on the latest ones:   Both the Guardian and Independent (UK newspapers) have given the new album 3/5. You can read and discuss them both here. Entertainment Weekly recently wrote about Cat Stevens (now Yusuf Islam) saying that the Coldplay's 'Viva La Vida' sounded suspiciously similar to his 1973 song 'Foreigner Suite.' Here are some of the fans'
