Chris Martin to Jonsson Cancer Center Foundation fundraiser.   Coldplay frontman Chris Martin is going solo this month in the name of charity. On May 20th, Martin will perform live at "A Taste of Napa," to raise funds for UCLA's Jonsson Cancer Center Foundation. Coldplay's singles box set now has a U.S. release scheduled.   The vinyl-only package The Singles 1999-2006, which will feature 7-inch pressings of the band's 14 singles and its 1999 EP The Blue Room, is due on 24th April [official MySpace confirmed]. A reminder if you haven't seen it already, Coldplay have spoken about their plans for 2009, and how the band plans to start work on the follow up to their best selling Viva la Vida album. Bass player Guy Berryman and drummer Will Champion spoke to STV's John Kilbride shortly before they appeared at Glasgow's SECC in December. Coldplay will be appearing on German TV show Wetten Dass..? this coming Saturday night (24th Jan) on TV channels ZDF, ORF2 and SF1. Tomorrow's scheduled release by Coldplay is a boxset simply titled 'The Singles 1999-2006'. It will contain all of the band's well-known hits, as well as some rare tracks.
