The video for the new single, The Scientist, is now in circulation on UK TV channels.   It was shot between September 30th and October 3rd in Surrey and London, and is directed by Jamie Thraves, the man behind the videos for Goldie's 'Temper Temper', The Verve's 'Lucky Man' (US version) and the legendary video for 'Just' by Radiohead.

Coldplay's 'The Scientist' featured highly in UK's Channel 4 Greatest 100 Pop Videos Ever, coming a fantastic 11th place.   The video, in which Chris Martin is shown moving backwards but singing the song forwards, acts out an apparent happy calm and ends on a carefree drive, but in-between features a horrific car crash.   For the full countdown of videos, visit Channel 4's page here
