Becks hefts the cup as top pop with more than a quarter of UK dads and 30 per cent of mums voting the England captain the best example of modern fatherhood. In true Becks style, he thrashed the opposition, netting 20 per cent more votes than second-placed Chris Martin.   But brand new starry dads Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise fell by the wayside in the poll, carried out by top toy firm Smoby – the blockbusting pair managed just three and four per cent of the vote respectively. Coldplay and Rihanna have revealed a behind the scenes footage from the shoot of their 'Princess of China' video via the ColdplayVEVO YouTube account, but the video has since been made private, according to viewers this evening. The BBC are screening a behind the scenes special of the making of Band Aid 20 tomorrow (Monday) at 10.35pm on BBC1.   It will show a special with access to many of the stars, including Chris Martin. Talking about the logistical nightmare of getting all the stars together - in 1984 and now - are producer Nigel Godrich, plus Bob Geldof and Midge Ure.   Given their continued devotion to the cause, it's easy to see how they did it.

But what have they got planned for the shows? Chris:   "I think we're going to disappoint everybody and just play music! We were going to do some magic tricks and maybe saw each other in half. We have to play in Glasgow on the same night. What are we going to be doing? Maybe fou

Uk bookmakers William Hill are refusing to take bets on the new Band Aid single being Christmas No.1 - because it's such a dead cert for the top spot... before it's even been recorded.   Pop singer Jamelia has just signed up for Band Aid III's re-recording of Do They Know It's Christmas?, alongside Coldplay, The Darkness and Travis.   A William Hill spokesman said: "Were we to include Band Aid in the betting, it would be a red-hot favourite and would decimate the market." Because sports and music are undoubtedly joined at the hip, here are my picks for the 48th annual Grammy Awards (the big categories anyway): Album of the Year -- How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb, U2 (should also win best rock album, and there should be rioting if Coldplay's subpar (!) X&Y wins);   Record of the Year -- Gold Digger, Kaney West (takes some of the sting out of losing for Album of the Year despite a rock-solid sophomore effort); Song of the Year -- We Belong Together, Mariah Care

In an August 10th Op-Ed in the Boston Herald, Bill O’Reilly takes a select group of musicians to task for what he views as their disparaging stance – which they disseminate through their songs – against the United States.   In particular, he singles out Bruce Springsteen, Chris Martin (of Coldplay), and Neil Young, who in his words have “demeaned the United States this summer” (ostensibly on their respective concert tours) by performing such seemingly condemnatory material. Summarizing their con
