  1. The only difference on the set list was Swallowed in the Sea back for the Kylie cover. As for the concert quality, I preferred the 3rd, but mainly because I was sat right near the stage, while at the 2nd, I was pretty high up. I don't think there was much difference in the quality of the songs, but sitting in two different places makes for two different concert experiences.
  2. I can't speak for him, but at the two Melbourne concerts I went to, I'm pretty sure Trouble wasn't complete. It wasn't really short, but some stuff was cut out like the "They spun a web for me" part where he used to ask the crowd to sing it (like Glastonbury 2002). I think it was a condensed version... they only seem to want to put on a concert of a certain length. I'm not sure if this is good or bad, but one of my dreams is to hear "Spies" and maybe "Shiver" live.
  3. Setlist was the same as 2/7 with Swallowed replacing the Kylie cover.
  4. Hey all. Here are my Coldplay photos and cam videos from the July 3rd gig! After worrying about sneaking a camera in on the July 2nd one, I went ahead with it on the 3rd and had no problem. Here are the pics and videos to browse through. Enjoy! http://www.puroresufan.com/images/scans/coldplay2006/ (pic 5 is the first that shows how close I was, vid 7 shows Chris going insane on the piano during the Clocks outro, vid 10 is everyone on their feet for Fix You)
  5. Day three of Melbourne was awesome. I was sat literally about 5 or 6 meters away from the stage, and Chris was basically (indirectly) staring at me when he was sat down and singing. Felt like a better performance than yesterday, maybe because I was so close to the stage. Set list was the same, except for the Kylie cover being replaced by Swallowed in the Sea. Took tons of photos and some camera videos, will upload them when I can.
  6. Just want to ask again, if no one knows, I might risk it anyway-- Are they letting cameras into the concert? I saw some people with some and thousands with phone cameras, but I don't know if the real cameras were sneaked in. There is a sign in the Rod Laver that says cameras are allowed, but Coldplay could ban them individually. I'd love to take some shots, I think I have a better seat tonight.
  7. Errr, sorry, I meant "In My Place", not ENL... ENL isn't the sort of song he runs around the crowd in. :D
  8. BTW, Chris ran into the crowd during Everything's Not Lost. I thought he was heading my way, but he kind of stopped.
  9. Everything's Not Lost, Swallowed in the Sea, and Don't Panic
  10. Tonight at Rod Laver (from memory, may be out of order)... Square One Politik Yellow God Put A Smile Upon Your Face What If Trouble White Shadows The Scientist How You See The World Till Kingdom Come Ring of Fire Clocks Talk - Encore, some silly people left before it started- Can't Get You Out Of My Head (Kylie cover) In My Place Fix You No Don't Panic, Everything's Not Lost, or Swallowed in the Sea, but Trouble and the Kylie cover made up for it. I'm going again tomorrow, hopefully some slight changes.
  11. I'm home from Melbourne day two. I'll be there tomorrow too. This was my second Coldplay concert after Bolton (England) a year ago. It wasn't as good in terms of atmosphere and all (Rod Laver Arena is toooooo cramped, I was in the huge Reebok Stadium last year), but the setlist was incredible. What If, Trouble, How You See The World, Can't Get You Out Of My Head (Glasto 2005 Kylie cover revisited)... does it get any better (okay, I missed Everything's Not Lost, which is usually played, and Spies, which is never played)? Crowd was a little restrained, but possibly because many people over 30 seemed to be there and because there isn't much room to move in Rod Laver. More got on their feet towards the end. By the way, anyone attending the Melbourne concerts - I saw lots of people with cameras there. Are they allowed? If so, I'll take mine and take some photos from my "gold" seat tomorrow. Edit: Youth Group were decent, but you could tell fans wanted Coldplay on... that is until "Forever Young" played, which got a Coldplay level reaction. By the way, when "How You See The World" played, there was an almost embarrassing silence... few people seemed to know what it was, but got into it as the song progressed.
  12. Why are cameras banned? At Bolton last year, they didn't bother at all. It was a turnstyle/box office, show ticket, and you're in, simple as that. I wanted to get some photos, darn... My few Bolton photos (the reason I wanted more this year... as my camera's film ran out last time): http://www.puroresufan.com/images/scans/england2005/coldplayb4reebok1.jpg http://www.puroresufan.com/images/scans/england2005/coldplayb4reebok2.jpg http://www.puroresufan.com/images/scans/england2005/coldplayreebok1.jpg http://www.puroresufan.com/images/scans/england2005/coldplayreebok2.jpg http://www.puroresufan.com/images/scans/england2005/coldplayreebok3.jpg http://www.puroresufan.com/images/scans/england2005/coldplayreebok4.jpg http://www.puroresufan.com/images/scans/england2005/coldplayreebok5.jpg
  13. So close... On July 4th, 2005, I saw Coldplay live at the massive Reebok Stadium in Bolton, England. I was back home on a two month trip then, and had the time of my life. On July 2nd and July 3rd, 2006, I'll see them again (I wonder if they'll have a concert on July 5th next year :D). Although I'm not quite as excited as last year for various reasons (none relating to the band, but moreso because I don't think the atmosphere of Bolton will be recreated, and they won't shoot the official video for Fix You!), I can't wait to see them again. They could be some of the last events of my 11 year stay in Australia, as I will be moving home soon, so hopefully it can be memorable!
  14. I've taken my ticket off eBay. No one was bidding for it! I might try and go to both concerts after all... I'm wondering about the unpopularity of Coldplay tickets on eBay though. All three Melbourne shows are sold out, but there are hardly any bids on the available ones there...
  15. Okay, I put my ticket on eBay with the starting price being what I paid for it (less actually, when you consider Tickettek's commission fee). I hope it sells, because I noticed some tickets on there with one day left that have no bids. I thought all tickets would be hot property right now with the shows having sold out?
