What's up with the 2nd show in Toronto? They're playing Wed/Thurs now.... looks like they just threw it up there at the last minute to thwart scalpers. :)

Outside of Washington DC.

Hey wait a minute - I'm about 6 4 and my wife is about 5 10 - hope it wasn't me blocking your view! I was over on the right side of the stage and don't remember anyone complaining around me - so probably wasn't me..... :) Fairfax County crowds are becoming like Orange County crowds - more concerned with the fact that they are THERE then enjoying it. I'm also a big Metallica fan and I've seen them at least 15-16 times - and BY FAR the worst crowd i've ever seen at a Metallica concert was here. It also sucked that it took 1 and a half hours before my car even MOVED in the parking lot going home.

I thought the crowd was OK. Where were you? I was in the pit about 10 ft from stage.

This may be a little off - but here's what I remember from last night's awesome show at Nissan (sorry no pics, but god knows enough people around me were taking pics) Square One Politik Yellow Speed Of Sound God Put A Smile On Your Face Trouble White Shadows Everything's Not Lost The Scientist Til Kingdom Come Ring of Fire Green Eyes Clocks Talk Encore- Swallowed In The Sea In My Place Fix You Green Eyes was a highlight - so was during In MY Place when Chris ran out in to the middle of the crowd and stood on a railing singing the end.

I did great in the presale - I got 4 GA Pit tickets to DC (Bristow VA) and Va Beach. I also got 2 tickets in the 6th row on the side (section 118) in Toronto for a friend at the ACC. surprised everyone else seems to have not done well.....

Lots of GA PIT tickets remaining in a few places - Virginia Beach for one (which is near me) :) Maybe I'll have to go see them there and then the next night in DC! Pit tickets at face value both places - NICE!

A couple things stand out to me in this post. 1) This is a Coldplay message board. Go to any other artists' message board on the internet - from Ashlee Simpson to Slipknot - and you'll find the same obsessions. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if someone had a post called "Favorite Guitar Solo in an Ashlee Simpson song". There are even countless message boards for Guns N Roses - who haven't made a new album in 12 years. 2) Nothing annoys me more than someone criticizing a band for being "radio friendly". Some bands grow in different directions - some evolve. Usually when a band becomes more popular, they have better producers, engineers and more money behind their next album which often produces a "slicker" sound. If you want to stick simply with "experimental" music, then go listen to Radiohead. Why is writing catchy music such an insult? I really don't get this complaint. Wasn't Parachutes a pretty "catchy" album? Yellow, Trouble, Don't Panic, Everything's Not Lost - come on! The reason why you think their second album was more "radio friendly" is because it was on the radio more! How is Clocks more radio friendly than anything on Parachutes? This was simply a case of the public warming to Coldplay, not them "selling out".

I think we all just overplayed SOS. I don't think it is anywhere NEAR as jarring as A Whisper was in Rush of Blood. Of course we're skipping over SOS - the rest of the album is so new and interesting. I'm shocked at how good this album is from beginning to end - only Low and Square One have been difficult for me to get into so far. And Fix You is the best song they've written.
