  1. Well...I think this album marks when Coldplay overtakes U2 as the biggest and best band in the world. After listening to "X&Y", it makes "How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb" sound very ordinary, and I worship U2. But God almighty, "X&Y" is filled with so many interesting tracks. And this is only their 3rd album? :stunned: "X&Y" was well worth the wait. I don't think it will leave my car CD player for the entire summer. This is absolutely superb and beautiful music.
  2. Well, considering the diverse styles present on "X&Y", "Speed Of Sound" deserves as much a place on the album as a song like "Square One" or "'Til Kingdom Come" The whole album doesn't really have a unifying "sound" other than the usual Coldplay staples of pianos and sharp guitars. It's their most diverse record.
  3. After 3 listens, I rate "X&Y" a success. No, it's not perfect, but neither was "A Rush Of Blood To The Head". For my money, it doesn't get much better than the 4-song arc from "Fix You" thru "Speed Of Sound" They could have released that as an EP and it would have been better than anything recorded in the past 5 years. I'm glad they took their time recording this becuase the quality shows. I'm ashamed to say I have never seen them live yet. That will change on this tour.
  4. The title track I can't get enough of the title track "X&Y" I love the violins at the end of the song. A beautiful end to a great song. Pure Coldplay, all the way.
