If I was a rich 17 year old girl living her near perfect life I would probably have no clue what was going on, no offense. Even if she did know she probably thought people would think it was cool to use something from a good band. At least they didn't copy crappy music. *edit the thing that bothers me is that no one really knows if she ripped them off and yet everyone assumes that she did. I would guess that Coldplay is getting paid in part for them using the rights to their song. I wouldn't consider that a "rip-off" If more people copied coldplay then maybe we'd have some better music so I don't really have anything against it.

well if she asked them that would imply that she makes her own music. I would guess that her producer asked somebody and the producer probably "ripped off" a lot more bands than coldplay. It's not really Ashlee's fault imo. I'm not saying this because I'm a fan of her or something, it's just the truth.
