  1. Brand Nubian....the meaning of the 5%.
  2. I am happy to report that the 'bring your own balloons' worked well. While yellow was playing and the extra dozen or so smaller balloons were being tapped around, chris martin remarked, "I think this is going to be a good one". Plus, there is a photo in the gallery for the coldplay article in the desmoinesregister.com covering the concert that shows the extra balloons.
  3. The setlist was pretty standard, nothing unusual. see http://www.desmoinesregister.com for the setlist.
  4. Here are my observations and impressions of last nights show. Hands down....very entertaining. Hard to imagine any other show that would be as good. The effort that is put out by Coldplay is truly appreciated. Other points to make are: -contrary to other posts, chris martin sings very well live -last night chris wore all white leather adidas HIGH tops (ok, maybe I pay too close attention) -last night between songs during the acoustic set, chris martin took a quick swig of guy berryman's beck beer. This is really no big deal, but there has been some strange scrutiny over whether he drinks/smokes, etc. Trust me, I saw it from 20-30 feet away. -though I am not from omaha, I was proud that the band seemed guenuinely pleased with the turnout (sold out) and response from those in attendance. For some reason I was afraid to be there with a half filled arena and bored concergoers. As it was, omaha did better than minneapolis. -There was a new screen prop added to the show from the first leg of the tour. A very large sheer screen came down mid show that was used to project video etc. This was about 10 feet in front of the smaller LED screen. -and finally, fiona apple was WELL received and although unusual in her performance style, still very talented and entertaining. -and also, the qwest center in omaha is a very impressive venue. I would be very surprised if coldplay does not make a return visit... I know I will.
  5. the omaha show is this monday, 2/20 at the qwest center.
  6. Just picked up 3 bags from Walmart. $.97 for 15 balloons, made in america even.
  7. Just for fun, bring a small bag of yellow balloons if you are attending the Omaha 2/20 show, then take one and pass it to your neighbor. Inflate and toss around at the beginning of yellow... before the big ones drop from the ceiling. Should get attention of the band, in a fun way.
  8. The comment about the album being already written came from todays interview on Radio 1. And the comment about wishing to play more songs live before releasing them came from another radio interview that I can't recall, but trust me... he basically admitted that if he could do it over, about 3-4 songs would have been replaced on X&Y with something else. One example I can think of is "what if". A song that they had higher expectations for, but perhaps, did not get the reaction desired.

Lacy, I will be at the concert on 2/20. I will be the one who passed around a bag of yellow balloons to be thrown about during song#3.
  10. According to Chris Martin, the 4th album has already been written, and, according to him, it will be the best album ever. However, he also says that he wishes he could have performed songs from X&Y live before releasing the album as a way to test them out with the audience. I would expect the same for the newly written material. I would expect to hear some new songs months before teh release of a new album.
