  1. I got my Thrillist today and it is all about Fanprice... lol... I was freakin crying laughing, b/c I have been annoying my friends with it and now they all just got it in their e-mail. http://www.thrillist.com/archives/2008/05/fanprice_nation_culture_events_services_sports.html Check out the last line. Set your lowball prices and see if anyone bites at FanPrice.com LMAO!!!
  2. QUOTE=tigermilk;2343722] Well yes they are all paper tickets, that is true. But a hard ticket with counterfoil is harder to fake than a piece of paper printed at home. If there were several copies of one ticket, only one ticket will gain entrance. The merchant can get proof that one person entered with the ticket, but if you have a ticket and are refused entry then the burden of proof is yours. There was a case that went thru the courts in New York state, where someone bought a print at home ticket. The defendent successfully argued that someone did use the ticket and that the plaintiff could have made two copies of the print at home ticket. The judge summed up that the burden of proof was with the plaintive and the sale stood. I really think that your ticket is legit. I have heard no complaints with fanprice. Your credit card gives you some protection, but not as much as the credit card companies say. I am giving folks some benefit of my legal knowledge(I have a double major in Economics and Law) in case this scenario ever happens. NEVER pay cash for a print at home ticket if you buy from anyone you do not know!!! I think I am officially driving Amex crazy... lol. I called them and read what you wrote and they agreed that if it went to court that would be true, but then told me that as far as chargebacks are concerned THEY give the burden of proof to the merchant. She said if a customer complains about a transaction, they take the customer's word for it, unless the seller can show what they are showing to be untrue or if the customer has a history of complaining and they think they are faking it. She then said that as far as she knew only amex had this good of a fraud protection program... lol... I loved the way they sold themselves. To be honest, I wouldn't pay CASH for any ticket, print at home, cardboard or otherwise... I've never seen a counter foil thing and I go to a alot of shows... it is just some thick paper with ticketmaster across the back... I could probably fake one at the color copy place on the corner and some thick ass paper, not that I am going into business or anything.:laugh3: Anyways, thanks for the help... if you can't tell I tend to research things to death, so I appreciate all input!
  3. I called my credit card company and asked and they said that isn't true. If I call and say that I was unable to get in, the burden is on the MERHCANT to prove that I was allowed in. I asked them to check if they had received any complaints about fanprice, but they said they couldn't do that search for me. He suggested I check the internet, which I did and I couldn't find any complains, just people saying that it was good for them. I also asked the person if I shouldn't have accepted paper tickets and he kinda laughed and said, "they are all paper tickets". He said with today's technology it is just as easy for someone to fake a paper e-ticket as a cardboard paper ticket and assured me I was protected. I paid with an Amex so I am not sure if that makes a difference or anything. Anyways, I would think if they were ripping people off someone would have complained somewhere.
  4. I got seats thanks to this forum. I talked about it elsewhere so I won't bore everyone here, but I am very excited! I fly in to see my parents on July 2nd... and now have tix to the July 5th show! I also want to see them in L.A., but they haven't announced that date.
  5. I already have them in my hand and they certainly look legit. I got an e-mail that someone had accepted my offer, I clicked a link and downloaded them. I called the venue, but they said they couldn't check barcodes until the night of the show. Since I paid with a credit card they really have nothing to gain if these are fakes... I could just charge it back and get my money back and they would lose the money, plus pay a big fee and be in trouble. I guess anything can happen, but I checked the web and all the reports on it were good.
  6. *HOPE HOPE* I got tix for the 5th b/c I am going to visit family, but I am hoping they come to LA as well. I saw them at a the bowl years ago and it was freakin magical!!! I would so much rather them play the bowl than an arena like Staples... it just works outside under the stars... well, moon, because you can't see the stars in LA... lol.
  7. I got a link from a thread I saw posted here earlier today... it is for a website called fanprice.com... I was able to pick where I wanted to sit and name my price for the tickets, kinda like priceline. I got tickets to the show at the Palace on July 5th... they were 21st row on the floor and I didn't pay much more than face value. I paid $115 per ticket, plus 2.50 for e-tickets. I did a little research on the company and they seem to be reliable... I used my credit card and they are verisign safe and all that stuff... there were a couple of yahoo questions about them and all the answers were positive. Hope it is all good, but I guess I can charge em back if I got screwed, so there isn't much in it for them... sorry, just thinking out loud. Anyways, I am really glad I found this forum... I live in Los Angeles and the tickets went on sale at 7AM my time, but I am going to visit my fam for the 4th and I saw this date on the schedule and thought it would be perfect, but I slept right through 7, 8 and 9 (guess I shouldn't have gone out last night). So, if you oversleep check out that site.. fanprice.com it was pretty cool for me.
  8. Hey English! THANKS!!!!! Hey English, I surfed this site earlier to see if anyone was selling decent seats or knew where to get them... I slept in and missed the onsale completely for Palace this morning. I really wanted first 25 on the floor. All that was left on ticketbastard was back floor.. they had the seats I wanted up for auction STARTING at 120 per ticket. (Gee, thanks... I just loving being outbid ). I checked out Stubhub... $215 per ticket...:veryangry: NOT. I went to that fanprice site and bid $115.... 3 hours later and just got notice that I got my tickets! Got 21st row in section A. and I already downloaded them!! $232.50 was the total cost with shipping for 2 tickets... cheaper than TM, WAY cheaper than Stubhub and I am right up front. I'm visiting family in Detroit for the 4th and now I am one a happy dude! :D No L.A. show listed yet... I'm going to be all over that once they announce. ViVa La Fanprice!!
