Hey everyone! Kinda just wanted to ask some people for their opinion on the progress of Coldplay. Starting with Parachutes and A Rush of Blood to the Head, I think they had a great start. I loved their first two albums, great tune and melody. X&Y was good too but I didn't enjoy it as much as the first two, to this day I consider it their weakest so far. I though Viva La Vida was another great CD, especially for a CD that I see as an experiment album. So far I've been a fan since 2000 and to this day I consider them a really influential band to me. But lately I feel that Coldplay is beginning to shift to a more mainstream audience, and this concerns me a little. And these rumors that that Coldplay is to tour with Miley Cyrus, and to be quiet honest I dislike her a lot! So I'm against it. Then the whole plagiarism law suit with Satriani. Makes me feel that lately the band is going downhill. I don't mean to insult anyone or make a flame thread, I would really like some constructive criticism. But anyone else feel a little out-of-place with the possible figure of the band? I do admit that no band is perfect, and I don't expect the world from Coldplay. Yet, it would really disappoint me to see Coldplay sell out to mainstream media. Like I said, I would really like to see some opinions on how you folks feel about the band. Well I was going through my iTunes. I was listening to The Strokes and all of a sudden I felt like listening to Swallowed in the Sea. So I scroll up and click on the song. I don't know how I did it, but I accidentally deleted the song as I choose it. At this point I was like... F%$#. :angry: So I got on Limewire and looked for a new file, clicked, downloaded and played it. But the song was completely off, it sounded similar to Coldplay but it wasn't the song. I went to the google and attempted to find the name of the song. Eventually I found it was "Burning in the Sun" by Blue Merle. I was surprised it wasn't coldplay, the singer sounds just like Chris. Still, I really liked the song.
