If my memory is correct, he just said that there would be one more special thing tonight since they were asked to record a song for a show against cancer (or something like that) and he asked the crowd to sing loud and put their Xylobands up. Maybe the fact that two Xylobands were given to each spectator allowed a more spectacular visual result.
