Anyone else tired of same set list? [2008]
I like the spirited debate this topic has raised. We all love Coldplay, some of us just feel like the live show is becoming too cookie cutter. It's like the development that you drive through in certain towns, sure the homes are absolutely beautiful but they all look the same. I am not arguing that these same songs in the same order don't constitute a great show, because it certainly does. I am just confused as to how 70+ shows so far has featured pretty much the same set list. Everything's Not Lost, Trouble, Amsterdam, Warning Sign. Give me just one of these songs every now and then!

you guys act like I want something that is ridiculous. All I am asking is why do they have to play the same songs every night in the exact same order? They can't throw Amsterdam in there or another song from Parachutes, or a B-side? I am not asking for the whole set list to be changed, what I am saying is that I am surprised it's the same songs in the same order every night.

Folks, let me start off by saying that I am as big a Coldplay fan as anyone out there. I was sitting at home one night in the late 90's watching this mini concert on Comcast and I thought to myself who the heck is this band they are awesome! From there it was non stop infatuation with everything about these guys, Chris' paino skills, Will's constant energy on the drums etc. Their songs were beautiful, amazing, awesome, you could get lost in the lyrics it was all good. Their B-sides are absolutely ridiculous...songs like Animals, Crests of Waves, For You, Careful Where You Stand etc. SO WHERE ARE THEY? Hey I am not saying you should play B-sides all night at a concert but I gotta be honest, I have been to about 10 Coldplay shows and nothing was better than their ROBTTH tour, even the X&Y tour was very good. But for the life of me I can't understand why I check this site after every live show to see the same set list over and over and over again. Forget the fact that the band must get bored with it no? How is Chris not sitting at the piano and playing Trouble and Everything's Not Lost as a STAPLE???!!! These are the songs that made you guys great, WHERE ARE THEY???? I know Viva is the latest album, I get it but I just don't know what happened to that band I watched on Comcast that night. Maybe it's true, sometimes for us fans it's not good when our favorite groups become superstars. I just want to log in one day and see a set list that I can smile at, not one that I just shrug my shoulders too. Anyone else feel this way?
