Bearcat, You make interesting points and I respect your right to express them. However, what is bumming me out is that everyone on this blog keeps saying that the 2 songs are not similiar..... and keep calling "bullshit!"..... The simple fact is, the songs are alot alike and sound the same. Really only 4 lads know the truth. If they are vindicated in the end, great. "Chord progressions and diatonic theory aside"...........??? how can you put that aside? "sharing the same tempo and having 4-5 notes sequentually in a verse melody does not constitute as plagerism"..... LOL! Then what does???? Believe me when I tell you that I understand your faithfulness to the band and the WANTING to believe that they are innocent.... It is obvious that you dont know shit about guitar players. Joe sounds or plays NOTHING like EVH. Interesting video take on the whole thing from someone who just might know what he is talking about. Do I think that Coldplay sat down and decided to steal Joe's tune???? No. That would be lame and they are way too talented for that. But the similiarities to the two songs are just a little too close not to notice.

Joe doesn't need the money..... Maybe there is a piece of information regarding this case that none of us know about....

I think you should listen to both original recordings.. The tempo is similiar, so is the pitch... I have been playing guitar for a long time... the key is the same too.... dude.... denial.

Remember when John Fogerty had to defend one of his own songs that he had written back in the CCR days.... It was a hell of a fight as I remember.......... I just wish this was not happening. Coldplay are great artists... Satriani is a guitar god....

C'mon people.... Chord progressions are one thing, however when you listen to them mashed together on the YouTube link, you have to admit it is a clean ripoff of Joe's song. Dont badmouth the man, I am sure his record company is the one who made this happen. Just my take................
