  1. Must be standard for them - that's what played right before they came on stage last night in Va Beach. Wish I was there tonight.
  2. When I clicked on the review link, it took me to reviews of the Birmingham show. The more I think about the show (and watch a few videos of it), the more I need to see them again. Great, great show. :o
  3. My wife has short brown hair (the long brown hair belonged to the mother of the kid :) ) But yup, that was us. I must have missed the pushing towards the end of the show. I never really felt it where I was and couldn't take my eyes off the stage. It's too bad though, I thought the PIT was fairly well behaved throughout most of the show.
  4. Lauren - Sounds like we were right there. I was wearing a red pullover and my wife was in a white hooded sweatshirt. We were standing next to a couple and their kid, who was seeing Coldplay for the first time also - it was fun to see how great a time he was having.
  5. I don't know about a number, but it wasn't overly crowded in my opinion. People were packed in pretty tight near the front center. We stayed just on the outside and right up against the "mini catwalk" on stage right and never felt "squished." People near us even went out for potty breaks or to get drinks and had no problem coming back to their previous spot. I wasn't sure what to expect from the PIT experience, but it was awesome.
  6. Let's try this, sorry, didn't get too many good ones of Chris. My wife and I were close enough to reach out and touch them (but didn't).
  7. Finally got the pictures from my phone to my PC, but I'm not able to post attachments - I'll work on that and hopefully post some later today.
  8. I'm trying to load some pictures from my phone, but apparently am not tech-savvy enough. I'll keep trying. The setlist was the same last night, and I thought that would disappoint me a little, but it didn't. At all. I still wish they would play a few more songs during their shows, but what they did play was incredible. And I'd rather have quality over quantity. When Chris wasn't behind the piano, he was all over the stage, I really don't know how he keeps that up over a long series of concert dates. Johnny was also all over the stage. During 'Lovers in Japan', Chris came onto the little catwalk right in front of us, dancing with a Japanese parasol - I tried to get a picture of that, but not sure yet how it turned out. This was my first Coldplay show and I will definitely try to see them again. I'm not sure where this ranks on my all time concert list, but it's up there.
  9. I was in the pit last night also - we were right next to the little stage extension on stage right. Each time Chris and Johnny came out there (which was about 4-5 each) we could have reached out and touched them. Awesome awesome show. Sounded like Chris might have had a cold, but that didn't hamper the performance at all. Highlights for me were 'In My Place' and 'Lovers in Japan' - wow!
  10. I'm not holding my breath for any set list changes, but would be thrilled to hear 'Swallowed in the Sea' or 'Shiver' or 'ENL.'
  11. Especially since I believe they are pretty strict about the 11pm cut off time at Va Beach. Thanks for the heads up!
  12. We're coming up from NC, probably also get there around 7:30. I'm hoping that parking at that time won't be a nightmare.
  13. Based on what the Ampitheatre folks said, it's just standing room in the pit - no actual seats. Thank goodness the weather looks good today!
  14. I'm in a similar boat - my wife is going with me, and while she likes Coldplay, she's not too enthusiastic about the idea of standing in the pit for 2+ hours waiting for the concert to start and then watching the opening bands. We're still trying to figure out what time we're going to arrive.
  15. I called the ampitheatre about that b/c I bought seats there also. The person I spoke to there sounded knowledgeable and said that it would be standing only - no seats. That's kind of cool b/c you can get quite close to the band, but it makes for a tiring night for old folks :)
