Chemistry is really what determines a ship. Well to me at least.

For example, one of my ships is FrankyxRobin or Frobin from the anime One Piece. I think they would have chemistry based on how similar their lives are.

Okay. First of all, there are many many types of ships. Second, shippings have pairing names often. Third, NOT EVERYONE SHIPS WHAT YOU SHIP. Fourth, your ships may (may is used very loosely here. The fun of a ship is when it's not official.) be an actual thing called canon. Canon is when it is officially accepted in where that ship is from.
