  1. So they've removed it? Was it all a stunt to get more publicity for the new single/album? Too little, too late. They've lost some fans.
  2. A bit of research would have shown you that the UN partition plan made Jerusalem an international city under the control of the UN. The Jews agreed to this, the Arabs refused and went to war. A war which they lost.
  3. Oh wait, you're Iranian. Iran - a country which declared 'death to Israel' in 1979 for no other reason than on religious grounds.
  4. Well, the groups behind the song all support the right of return which as explained already, is a euphemism the Arabs use for the destruction of Israel. i.e. by overpopulating Israel with Arabs to outnumber the Jews. So Coldplay have given their backing to this which is very disappointing. Especially as you'd have thought his wife who has Jewish connections and named her son MOSES might have something to say about it. Does Chris Martin know who Moses was?
  5. At no point in the history of this world, have Palestinians had a country or state. At no point in the history of this world, have Palestinians governed their own territory (until Israel gave them autonomy) At no point in the history of this world, have Palestinians or any Arabs had Jerusalem as their capital. These are simply irrefutable historical facts.
  6. Not sure why you're arguing the demographics case. Over 20% of Israel's population is Arab and there's millions of palestinians who could get into Israel if Coldplay's ideas came true. As for the partition plan, I should clarify that under the BRITISH mandate they proposed 22% to Jews and 78% to Arabs. Modern day Jordan would have been part of Palestine if they had not gone to war - so your map is of the wrong era. Essentially, modern day Jordan (called Transjordan back in those days) is Palestine.
  7. The groups behind the video stand for the right of return which is 'code' for the destruction of Israel. Coldplay are not endorsing peace or a peaceful solution, they're endorsing one side's victory over the other. As for a bi-national state - you're welcome to go and live in a majority Muslim country (as that is what Israel would then become in a bi-national state) but most Israelis that I met would not welcome national suicide as some European commentators from a safe distance suggest they should do. Israel was created as 22% of the UN mandate of 'palestine'. Palestine was not a nation state. It was a geographical area of land under UN control, not run or governed by Palestinians (who throughout history have never had a country). 78% would go to the Arabs who later became 'palestinians'. The Arabs refused and wanted 100%. What can I tell you, they lost three wars they started and still complain of injustice. Like a mugger who keeps attempting to steal your phone only for you to punch him on the nose, then off he goes crying to the cops about his nose.
  8. The "right of return" is a euphemism for the destruction of Israel. There were more Jewish refugees created as a result of the war than palestinian. The reason we don't hear about the 900,000 Jewish refugees thrown out of their homes by the Arabs, is because Israel took them all in and housed them. Whereas the Arabs left the palestinians in camps.
  9. Col. Richard Justin Kemp CBE agrees with you. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NX6vyT8RzMo]YouTube - ‪Goldstone Gaza Report: Col. Richard Kemp Testifies at U.N. Emergency Session‬‏[/ame] A highly decorated British Colonel who served in Iraq, Afghanistan, Bosnia, Northern Ireland and the first Gulf war.
  10. When palestinians were under Jordanian and Egyptian rule, their life expectancy was 43-48 years. Under Israel, it went up to 73.1 years. Gaza & West Bank have a higher life expectancy than Turkey and parts of Scotland. They have higher literacy rates than all the surrounding Arab countries. Israel also eradicated Malaria in the territories which was killing palestinians prior to 1967.
  11. Then we'll expect to see a song for the Kurds without a state or for the Syrians being gunned down in the street?
  12. Biased like the Guardian article you linked to? A paper that has been behind a anti-Israel campaign for over decade.
  13. Israel is a very welcoming place. I was there on holiday for the first time last year. They love British music, but they will be disappointed that Coldplay didn't at least put their name to a song for peace or a two state solution rather than a headline grabbing pro-palestinian song which alienates a lot of people. I was in Jerusalem and watched as every person from every faith and colour walked by in this bustling ancient city. Prior to 1967, Jews were barred from their holy sites. So it's not all a one-sided story and a band like coldplay shouldn't be taking sides.
  14. Very disappointed in them. Unfortunately everyone and their dog seems to be clamouring to give their opinion on a conflict they probably know very little about. Would they lend support to a song for the Kurds who are the world's largest stateless people? or how about a song condemning the illegal occupation of Northern Cyprus by Turkey? Still, this will be yet more publicity and another political 'feather' in their cap.
