I guess you had great expectations about Achtung Baby, same happened to me with Pink Floyd and some of their albums (those are great, anyway, but not as I expected). And I agree with the Linkin Park thing. I mean, A Thousand Suns sucks, and Minutes To Midnight is like meh.

Jmm I think the hits by U2 are their worst songs. I mean, With Or Without You, Beautiful Day... Songs like The Fly or Even Better Than The Real Thing are masterpieces, musically and lyrically. And I think Linkin Park is a good band, not a GREAT one, but they're good. I guess it's all about tastes. (I don't get how can't you get Achtung Baby, is pure perfection!)

Interesting, I love NLOTH but I hate HTDAAB. Though City Of Blinding Lights is a beautiful tune. But the album is a little bit commercial. The thing that REALLY dissapoints me, is that they're working with RedOne (producer of Lady Gaga), and that they want to make some "catchy tunes"... I don't have problems with Pop, but they are waay better than that!

Jmm in that case, we only have U2 and Coldplay in common! Though I like some 80's and a lot of 90's music!

What do you mean with old? I like them since Boy to Zooropa. Achtung Baby is my favorite by far, but The Joshua Tree and The Unforgettable Fire are in my all-time favorites too.
