  1. As is common with all forms of art, albums tell stories within their music. And often, like films such as the Lord of the Rings, the whole story must be cut short for practical or compromising reasons, leaving a fantastic piece of art, but an unfinished one nonetheless. Such is the case with Coldplay's Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends album. A magnificent work of art it is - as verified both by critical reception and listener support - but the entire work felt truncated; a complex puzzle missing a few key pieces. Until now. I have compiled what I feel is the "complete" Viva la Vida; one that tells the entire "story" of the music. The introductory "Life in Technicolor" which forms a beautiful instrumental opening to the album I have now remixed together with the lyrical track of "Life in Technicolor II" to form a new beginning for the album that sounds very much on par with "Where the Streets Have No Name" from U2's "The Joshua Tree". The new piano interlude of "Postcards from Far Away" adds a Victorian-cum-classical feel to the entire set that twists the original feel of the album on its head before embarking on to the second act. And from the transition between "Rainy Day" and "Viva la Vida" that feels as though it was meant to be that way, to the way "Glass of Water" expresses a final musical climax before the culminating "Death and All His Friends" (now edited to provide a silent segway into the "hidden" track which really ends the album and reiterates the closing line of the opening track), I feel this is the way the album was meant to be enjoyed. And now, I can't listen to it any other way. Tracklisting 1. Life in Technicolor I+II 2. Cemeteries in London 3. Poppyfields 4. Lost! 5. 42 6. Postcards from Far Away 7. Lovers in Japan, Reign of Love 8. Yes 9. Rainy Day 10. Viva la Vida 11. Violet Hill 12. Strawberry Swing 13. Glass of Water 14. Death and All His Friends (followed by ~30 seconds of silence) 15. Now My Feet Won't Touch the Ground (Hidden Track) Link to my new version of "Life in Technicolor" here if you wish to compile this yourself: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?ekxmgzw55dw (320kbps MP3) http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?zwic1jytj2u (Lossless FLAC) And please, feel free to tell me your feelings on this. Also, I wasn't sure which forum to post this in so I placed it here along with the B-Sides/Unreleased forum. Mods: if either is incorrect, feel free to move/remove it. Thanks!
  2. Actually this song has commonly been traded around p2p networks as being by Coldplay, but it is actually by a band known as Creeper Lagoon. It's from the album Take Back The Universe and Give Me Yesterday. It's a great song, and the rest of their music is pretty good, too.
  3. Both albums are now in the Multimedia section - Enjoy! And please, keep sharing thoughts and comments.
  4. I agree with the I Bloom Blaum and Easy To Please assessments - I don't think they are up to snuff on being on a "Best Of the B-Sides", but I shouldn't have overlooked Animals, so it now has it's place. Here's the updated tracklisting: 1 - Don't Panic (Blue Room) 2 - Animals 3 - One I Love 4 - Crests Of Waves 5 - Gravity 6 - Things I Don't Understand 7 - Proof 8 - See You Soon 9 - Brothers & Sisters 10 - I Ran Away 11 - No More Keeping My Feet On The Ground 12 - 1.36 13 - Sleeping Sun 14 - Murder 15 - Only Superstition 16 - The World Turned Upside Down 17 - Ode To Deodorant (Hidden Track) Also, a CD of all the B-Sides just wouldn't work, for two reasons: 1) It wouldn't be much of a "Best Of", and 2) The goal is to create an unofficial "album" that would meet the quality of a commercial release, so it has to fit on one CD. I can upload the Best of the B-Sides with proper album art for it if anybody would like it (The Best Of is already in Multimedia).
  5. Following the pattern of U2 in releasing Best Of albums in a 2-CD set here is my tracklisting of the non-existant Best Of Coldplay: 1 - Politik 2 - Don't Panic 3 - In My Place 4 - Swallowed In The Sea 5 - Moses 6 - Speed Of Sound 7 - The Scientist 8 - Fix You 9 - Yellow 10 - Clocks 11 - Trouble 12 - The Hardest Part 13 - Talk 14 - Shiver 15 - 'Til Kingdom Come 16 - Amsterdam 17 - Life Is For Living (Hidden Track) and the B-Sides: 1 - Don't Panic (Blue Room) 2 - One I Love 3 - Crests Of Waves 4 - Gravity 5 - Things I Don't Understand 6 - Proof 7 - See You Soon 8 - Brothers & Sisters 9 - I Ran Away 10 - No More Keeping My Feet On The Ground 11 - 1.36 12 - Sleeping Sun 13 - Murder 14 - Only Superstition 15 - The World Turned Upside Down 16 - Ode To Deodorant (Hidden Track) Thoughts?
  6. Bootleg, please!!! Hey all, I would have to agree. The second best concert I've ever been to in my life, and the best light show-concert ever. (It's hard to beat U2...yet...) Anyway, loved the show, and the Johnny-Cash dance move by Chris was brilliant. *lol* I know this might be a little early to request this, but if anyone has a bootleg of this show, no matter the quality, I will give anything in return for it! I have all the Coldplay studio stuff (rare, b-sides, albums) along with some rare concerts and all the tribute albums. Don't flame me with anything, please, it was just an amazing show and I'd love to have a copy. Corum? *lol* Ciao! ~dewey
