need your help guys, i wanna learn a classical song but i don't know which one :\

 

i tried canon in D except there way to many versions and i couldn't decide and i learned the first page of Fur Elisa, and i impressed myself with that then i turned the page and found scaled! i suck at scales they never work out right haha.

 

so does anyone know any classical songs that will impress people because there is just tooooo many and i don't wanna go through em' all i'll be here for a lifetime ;)

oh god the only way i could EVER play a classical song would be if i was good at scales........ahhhh.

 

does anyone know any exercises that will help you improve on scales :confused:

 

also i just realised that i tend to use my thumb, index and and one in between your index and pinky fingers the most :\ great now i gotta really start using the rest more haha...aw

If you're looking for good classic songs, I'd suggest Moonlight Sonata, it's not too hard and it's really pretty!

 

But if you want to play classical; really practise them scales! I'm sure you can find all over the internet simple scales for all keys. Just practise C Major a lot, since it's only white keys and you'll learn to use all your fingers.. which you'll really need :)

Bach is pretty simple as a good starter.... Maybe Menuet?

 

Or if you are looking for a more romantice piece... The Venetian Boat Song (also known as Song without Words) by Mendelssohn is pretty easy and beautiful.

The point of alot of Classical music was to highlight the virtuosity of the musicians playing it, so you're going to have to deal with those scales, like it or not.

 

But they're just patterns. Start slow and build up your speed with them as you get more comfortable.

 

WHen you've been doing them for ahile, you'll find yourself automatically using all your fingers. I only use the 3 you mentioned in the left hand...guess I need to work on the scales too,lol.

 

Have a look at the 2nd movement of Mozart's Sonata in C Major. It's fairly simple. There are some scale passages, but the tempo is slow.

Something hard but amazing song is "In The Hall Of Mountain King" by Edvard Grieg. Too hard for me, but it kicks ass.

^ Oh, do you have a really hard version of it? Because I have a simplified one and it's dead easy but still sounds pretty cool!
