Birdies

Featured Replies

Just out of sheer curiousity, is there any birdwatchers/backyard bird feeders here?

Umm no i dont feed the birds.

I'm going to be feeding turkey to some fiends next week. Does that count?

SEriously though, I used to be into birdwatching when I was a kid. Not so much anymore, but I have a little feeder outside my apartment.

Man, this sucks.

I might as well join some message board for us people.

Have any shat on you?

  • Author

No. That's usually just a steriotypical kind of thing. They rarely really do that around my house, if at all.

Hahaha.......

I once had a pigeon shit in my guitar case while I was busking. I'm not sure if it was a donation or a critique.

Some friends and I go camping twice a year, and one of the things we look forward to is spotting the occasional blue haron. THey're beautiful, but very shy around populated areas, so you're lucky to see one.

Pigeons are pests, along with House Sparrows.

Most large birds are shy around populated areas, I think. I used to see an Egret by my house in a local pond all the time early in the morning, but not really anymore.

They are indeed pests!!

Do you have a camera that you take pictures with?

  • Author

no, actually, I don't. I had one, but sold it. I'm getting another.

Oh okay, cos I thought if you had a bird-feeder,you would wait until they came to it,and then take some piccies.

With the Nikon series cameras, which I am purchasing, you can actually place the camera in front of the bird feeder on a tripod, and shoot the pictures using a remote.

Oh that's pretty cool!!!
