anniswan
My daughter is allergic to Latex and we are going to the Melb Concert on Weds night, when we went to the last concert when Coldplay were out here last time, we sheltered her and made sure that none of the balloons came near her. What I was wondering is how would I find out what the balloons are made of, if they are synthetic, we don't have a worry, but if they are latex, then we would be best to leave the arena during Yellow, which would be a shame. I have the option of taking her Epipen, which I will anyway, but would prefer to prevent any reaction than use the Epipen. TIA AS

busybeeburns
I suspect if you get an answer it will be along the lines of providing entertainment for the majority rather than accounting for individual needs, and that there are seats available where the balloons will not reach, but worth asking nonetheless :)
anniswan
I don't have an issue with providing entertainment to the majority, I have been given an email address for Debs Wild and she is going to try and find out what they are made of, she replied very quickly to my request. Unless you live with this allergy day to day it's hard to understand what we have to prepare for. I think I have ascertained that Clocks is the song before Yellow so towards the end of Clocks we may just pop out for a refreshment.
busybeeburns
don't forget that some of the balloons may still linger after yellow has finished :)
Pseudonym
is it even a guarantee they will do the balloons? I don't know about recently but at the show I went to this tour they didn't do the balloons during Yellow

Pris
The oracle commented on this :nice March 4, 2009 - submitted by Dalia, El Salvador Q. I was watching MTV world stage with Coldplay, and when the big yellow balls fell from stage during the song Yellow I realized that after the song all the balls despair so I wanted to know what did you do with all those balls??? Their concerts are pretty awesome!! The Oracle replies: The balls don't disappear as such, they're actually balloons and people pop them. Some folk have been known to keep hold of them until the end but it's much more fun to bounce them around and pop them! Speaking of the balloons, I was asked this week what they were made from as we had a fan with a latex allergy attending a concert. The balloons are made from latex and so thought I'd point that out just in case anyone else needs that information.
