Piano under 2000€/£1500/$2500?

Featured Replies

I am looking to buy a piano.

I read somewhere around here about the Yamaha Clavinovas, but there are so many that I don't know which one to choose.

I have 1500€-2000€ for a piano.

I want it to be light, so it's easier to move.

It should have USB/MIDI, so I can connect it to the computer so I can have different sounds.

It should look nice.

Can anybody help?

Thanks.

If you want something easy to move, I would suggest a stage piano instead of a clavinova. If you connect it via MIDI to your Mac/PC the sound will be coming out of the computer because MIDI transfers trigger signal (on/off) and not sound. If you want the sound to be coming out of the piano's speakers you're going to need a piano with Aux Input.

A. The Nord Electro series is amazing and you can save different sounds in the actual stage piano.

But you're going to need external speakers or headphones because Nord doesn't make pianos with speakers...

B. Yamaha http://www.thomann.de/gr/yamaha_p_255_b.htm

C. Kawai http://www.thomann.de/gr/kawai_es_8_b.htm

Chris's first Piano was a Kawai MP 2000 and the piano sound the use is the "EX Concert Grand Piano" which is included in the es8. But they use Yamaha pianos because Chris prefers the weighting/feel of the yamaha keys.

Thanks.

I mean the Yamaha CLP-545 isn't that heavy.

It's 61,5Kg, not that much if I ever need to move.

Don't really like the look of those stage pianos.

Yeah, I want to have the same sound as Chris Martin has on his piano, and I also want the sound to come out of the piano, so thanks for letting me know that.
