Celebrating 20 Years Since The Release of Parachutes!

The number one album has sold over 13 million copies worldwide!

Today, July 10th, marks twenty years since Coldplay released their debut album, ‘Parachutes’. The multi-platinum number one album has since sold over 13 million copies worldwide.

‘Parachutes’ includes the band’s first major hit  ‘Yellow’ - the song that launched the band on the international stage, as well as ‘Shiver’, ‘Trouble’ and ‘Don’t Panic.’  To mark the album's 20th anniversary, the videos for its four singles have been restored to HD quality.

In 2001, following the release of ‘Parachutes’, the band were nominated for five BRIT Awards, winning both Best British Album and Best British Group. The band have gone on to win Best British Album three times and Best British Group four times, alongside a host of other awards.

Parachutes was described by Rolling Stone as ‘a work of real transcendence’ and by Melody Maker as a “masterpiece”.  NME declared 'It's incredible this is a debut album.'

Coldplaying Downloads has also made an old radio documentary from 2001 available featuring interviews with the band along with long time friends of the lads!

    • Well, I ´ll give it a view and it will probably give us some beautiful and emotional moments, and it´s something that lots of artists have done in the past years.
    • Labels like to churn out these shovelware compilation albums, seemingly in an attempt to game streams for their artists' songs. They usually have a generic title and a cover that looks like it was designed by someone who just discovered Photoshop and stock images. Or it could just be spam. It's hard to tell the difference.
    • Did you guys see the film for the future trailer drop. I am really excited, it seems like such a cool project!
    • I do not see this myself but I am also apart of a different band fanbase (tally hall) that has been suffering these kind of attacks constantly. It is hackers getting into youtube's topic system and uploading fake songs or albums under other people's names (usually these often being ai generated). I assume it got taken care of more quickly because it is coldplay so someone got on it (unless I am not looking in the right place, if so can you post a picture or lnk to it)
    • yoo theyve been releasing their old stuff again on youtube with different album covers. Theyre just random images with cheesy phrases like "FALL IS HERE", "BEST SAD SONGS", "FOREVER ROCK"... tf is happening ??
