The Viva La Vida demos - Pieces of art

The Viva La Vida demos - Pieces of art

The Viva era was a special time to be a Coldplay fan. The band had taken a new approach and production style with the likes of Brian Eno. A lot of buzz was created around the exciting period in Coldplay's history, not just from the album itself but during a random weekend on July 18th 2009, over a year since the release of Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends, the demos had surfaced online, to the masses of delighted and surprised Coldplayers! It wasn't without controversy however as the demos were leaked and were not supposed to be released online, just like the rough cut of Life in Technicolor, featuring the guys in the studio with Brian Eno. That clip was leaked from the official Coldplay website before the release of 'VLVODAAHF'. The Viva La Vida demos were requested not to be shared and the copies of the tracks are not available within the Coldplaying forums but have been available to stream on Youtube since 2010. Instrumentals of Famous Old Painters and Lukas were latecomers and only surfaced online at a later date, with Lukas becoming a

. Both were hyped (as most mentioned and unreleased tracks are) to the high heavens in a similar way Car Kids was if your more familiar with the Mylo Xyloto era.

Those lovely instrumentals, Famous Old Painters and Lukas capped off the collection of Viva La Vida demos. A lot of fans have listened to these already or most of the tracks while this may be new to some Coldplayers so if it is, enjoy the wonderful artwork video we have put together, with help from atlas2000 with the majority of the fan made art (who is set to be Coldplaying's top contributor for August!), luci&lia and BiggerStronger who designed the tracklisting below, which includes the original demo of Lovers in Japan.

Without further ado then, sit back, stick some headphones on and watch the fantastic fan made artwork for each track while listening to the raw sounds of the Viva La Vida era!
