Coldplay rocker Chris Martin was so furious when he found himself faced with a critical member of the public, he unleashed an astonishing tirade on her appearance and excess weight.   The Clocks star admits he was an "arsehole" to launch such a personal attack on the unimpressed woman. He says, "When someone insults you to your face about your music, the first thing you want to do is pick on something about their appearance. "It's a terrible thing but I had this woman parked outside our house.

Jay Z has been lined up to perform a medley of his hits at the Brit Awards next February. It is understood Jay-Z will team up with another performer when he takes to the stage, believed to be either Alicia Keyes, Coldplay's Chris Martin or his wife Beyonce Knowles.   "Jay-Z is confirmed as one of the key performers," a source told The Sun newspaper. "In weak years there have been problems securing the big international artists. But knowing Jay-Z is there will help to secure other big acts now."

As Coldplay inch closer to finishing the follow-up to 2002's A Rush of Blood to the Head, frontman Chris Martin is finding influence from some unlikely sources.   "Do you like Jay-Z?" he asked British radio jock Thom Costall of station Harborough FM during an interview Friday. "I've been listening to Jay-Z and Kraftwerk a lot, trying to get inspiration for the last few songs on our album."When he hasn't been listening to hip-hop and electronic music, Martin has been writing lyrics, some of which

Coldplay's Chris Martin is seeking advice on how to improve his faltering memory.   Chris is researching memory enhancement techniques as his recall for words during live gigs has become progressively unreliable. The 28-year-old has forgotten the lyrics to several songs while performing live at almost every gig he's played at in the last six months.   There are reports that Chris may resort to rote-learning which is apparently how he passed his Ancient History exams at University College London

Chris Martin has revealed that he likes to travel to his own gigs by public transport.   The Coldplay singer admits that the experience puts him in a "bad mood" and believes that this encourages him to put on a better show for fans.   "I try getting to shows at the same time as everyone else," he told The Mirror. "I've been stuck in traffic, I've been on an overcrowded train and I've lined up to buy an overpriced hot dog. Quite often this will put me in a bad mood. So I know just what it's like

The all knowing Oracle gives more Coldplay hints and tips…   August 20, 2008 - submitted by Josh, United Kingdom   Q. Is Brothers & Sisters (on the Without Parachutes) really as Marxist as I think it is?   The Oracle replies:   Brothers & Sisters was a single released on Fierce Panda and was in no way Marxist! Without Parachutes is a bootleg by the way so is not an official Coldplay release. August 20, 2008 - submitted by AJ, Canada   Q. Would Coldplay ever consider doing a concert devoi

"Coldplay’s Chris Martin can sip from his ‘world’s best Dad’ mug and feel a bit smug this weekend as he can now also lay claim to the title of most-listened to dad, according to Spotify"     More info   Meanwhile, Coldplay's frontman is back in London and was spotted at Hyde Park in London, Thursday night, watching Indie band, 'The Strokes'. No doubt, he was loving the tunes from their first album, 'Is This It', which he named as 'the best album of the past 15 years' during an interview w

So now we know what Chris Martin has been up to for the past few months – growing his hair.   The Coldplay singer paraded his dodgy barnet as he held up cute daughter Apple on a day out at a fair. Chris and his bandmates have been gigging in South America, trying songs for their next album (er..no).   But he caught up with daddy duties at the fair in LA – stepping in when Apple got scared on a pony and cried. She must have had A Rush Of Blood To The Head.   More on this here [thanks Azlina]

Chris Martin was just on KIIS FM with Ryan Seacrest. As per usual, he was in typical interviewing form - facetious and funny. You can listen to and download the interview here [thanks Ouiparis & mimixxx]   Meantime, here are a few tidbits from the interview [thanks Ouiparis]:   * Ryan mentioned that he liked the Starbucks joke (venti vs. grande) and Chris said he was glad because it is difficult to be funny in front of a whole bunch of people.   * Chris thought the Monday night encore was mu

One week after appearing on the British comedy show 'Extras', Chris Martin finally speaks out about the fact that he was mocked badly by Ricky Gervais and being shown as a selfish pop star on an ego trip.   He said: "At least now people can assume I do have a sense of humour and it's not all about angst and baby Apple."   More on this here

Chris Martin recently announced that four songs acted as the cornerstones for the band's recently released third album, X&Y, and one of those tunes was the band's new single, "Fix You."   Chris says that all four of the tracks made him feel like Coldplay were breaking new musical ground.   "When I hear them or play them, I can remember the feeling of, like, 'Oh, we haven't done this before,' you know what I mean? Whenever we get that feeling it's very exciting, and we normally write two or t

Coldplay singer Chris Martin has a Hollywood wife - but don't let that fool you into thinking he's a playboy.   Martin - who has two kids with Gwyneth Paltrow - says a playboy lifestyle couldn't be further from the band's mind.   "At a time when we could just buy speedboats, we are really fired up about trying to do something," Chris says. "We have had three albums now, sold lots of records, we've taken a lot of shit ... and played to lots of intelligent people. Now it is time to do something g

The Streets have finished their long awaited new album - but Mike Skinner says his collaboration with Chris Martin may now never see the light of day.   Despite working together on the "sad" album track 'Dry Your Eyes', Skinner suspects Chris wasn't that keen on the finished product, so their version won’t be on the album.   Skinner told said: "'Dry Your Eyes' is the moment of complete panic when your girlfriend finishes with you...it's a sad one. I wrote the track and I thought that he (Chris M
