Coldplay have played tracks from their new album Mylo Xyloto for the first time in the UK since its release, at the University of East Anglia in Norwich last night (27th October 2011). They performed a 75-minute set in front of 1,500 fans at Norwich's East Anglia University - most of which was streamed live on Radio 1 around the world. The gig was the first time Coldplay had returned to play the student union venue in 11 years. Speaking to Radio 1's Newsbeat before performing, Chris Martin said:

Last night, Coldplay played at the Rock Werchter Festival in Belgium for the fourth time (2nd July 2011). The setlist was exactly the same as the previous performances at the Open'er Festival in Poland, the 'Where The Action Is' festival in Sweden and Glastonbury before that, which means they once again played live favourites Shiver and Everything's Not Lost from the first album Parachutes. Coldplay played a special one-off show at LA's UCLA Tennis Center venue last night (Wednesday, August 3rd). The net proceeds from the show, which is part of the Samsung AT&T Summer Krush concert series, went to benefit the GRAMMY Foundation's GRAMMY in the Schools music education initiative for high school students. The name did initially have relevance to the album, but not anymore. Coldplay have become the first British band to have a new entry in the US Top 10 singles chart since The Beatles.   Coldplay's debut at number eight with Speed of Sound is the second time a UK band has achieved the feat.
