For one...you can say that you think X&Y is shit, that you don't like it, it'll never go anywhere, ect, ect. One thing you most certainly cannot say, it's that it sounds the same as the past two albums. Do you not have ears? How is this not obvious to you? Secondly - are you there in the recording room with every single band in the world while they record, edit, produce, ect? No? Ah, well I didn't think so. Chris says they used computers to finish off In My Place and from this you gathered that they suck? I'm pretty sure a hella of a lot of bands do that as well! They just don't say it. Props to Coldplay for not giving a crap and actually saying when they get inspired by other bands and nick things from them and when things don't go well in the recording room. They're human, after all, and you can't base a band's exellence on how they recorded one song. dear dumbass, if you where able to read and comprehend, i know that's multi tasking for someone like you, you'd obviously see in the post that you quoted of mine, that i said two albums, being parachutes and arobtth both sound strikingly similar, whereas X&Y should drop off the face of the earth for it's bellowing sub-parness. i have been in a touring band for two years now, and recorded and have been recorded with countless bands. if you want to talk recording, you've picked the wrong fight. Simply put, when you put a scratch track down, it ensures that you can record each instrument seperately on correct time and be able to mix it well. It's apparent that if coldplay couldn't get "in my place" in correct manner to be able to record it that they, obviously, aren't half as talented as even i once thought. I'm not saying that no band uses computers to finish off things; my favorite band, Radiohead, uses computers to 'finish off' things by filling their sound, but this is a rare case in music where they used computers to piece the song together from bits that they didn't fuck up originally in the studio, which means they've had a hell of a time trying to play that simple of a song, which baffles me. furthermore, the band admitted to ripping another band off, trying to COPY their drums, which is a whole different spectrum from simply being inspired by.

"but maybe they'll remember our chords." Chris is humble, my friend. Would you prefer him to sit there and tell you that they'll be the biggest band and be remembered by everyone in 100 years? I think not. Besides, them thinking they're not the best only pushes them to be better everytime. I love how they work at songs and record them a billion times. Not many bands would give a crap when they know fans will buy the material regardless. i'm not sure they're going to be remembered for more than two albums that sound the same and one that should drop off the earth. i'll guarantee you the majority of actual bands out there dont edit and piece together a song of that simplicity because they can't record it together at all. i hate dave matthews band, but they record more difficult shit than that and dont have to edit pieces together etc. it's just bullocks and it's simply lame. now, racheld, i'd suppose you started automatically with 100 posts? i didn't think so either. i'm offering light to a situation which has been going between two coldplay message boards and a radiohead one, and finally started an account to defend myself against some angsty pre-pubescent teenager who said that your beloved coldplay has out done U2, Radiohead, and Sigur Ros combined. if that isn't the biggest pile of shit, i dont know what is. marketability isn't neccessarily a good thing, but alot of you think it is.

'we tried recording in my place 500 billion times but it never worked. we eventually used the magic of the computer to edit it all together' 'my lyrics aren't deep. no one will be reading into them 10 minutes or 100 years from now. they're just not that deep.' -chris martin huge. now they admit they suck.
  5. it's sad when it takes two options against radiohead to out number the one that's not directly against radiohead. :D :P
  6. They're probably afraid that Coldplay might make Radiohead seem insignificant... Forty years from now, when Coldplay are for the most part forgotten, I hope you remember this statement and cringe. I know I will. :D :D
  7. x&y should eat shit! :idea2:
  8. http://www.thechurchofchrismartin.com/home.htm :D :D :D you coldplay peeps are all psycho! lol
  9. i'm afraid coldplay does NOT make radiohead insignifigant. please take the time to listen to Radiohead's older B-Side, "You Never Wash Up After Yourself", then listen to Twisted Logic. :o
  10. this just in...coldplay fans are mentally retarded!
