Yes Coldplay performed with this person on stage. It wasn't at a regular tour concert, it was more of a one-off event for Coldplay.

The person who they performed this song with once played an instrument, but did not sing.

Here's another hint- the cover from this person/group is on an album consisting only of covers. This person/group did not headline the Super Bowl they performed at.
