Well, I said before that I have the right to express my opinion. What I don't like at all is that those people in Spain are using CM image to promote their cause. And regarding vegetarianism: It's ok for me if you don't want to eat meat as long you keep that practice to yourself. I don't like proselytism at all. That's all. That's why I´m pissed off. One of my good friends is a vegetarian. So when she came to my house, I cook vegetables specially for her. And sometimes, I decide not to eat meat, I prepare more vegetables, like different types of salads, or whatever I like, to make feel her more confortable (and because I know it's healthier). And we like to go to a restaurant near my home that is 100% vegetarian and I love to eat there. When someone says that eating vegetables is boring, I like to think in that restaurant, because there are so many things to eat, cooked in so many different ways. But why is so necessary to PREACH about it?? And with a CM image!!!

Proud of not eating meat??? Wow!! That's great and good for you. But you have to recognize that there are a lot of people feeling like extraterrestrials only because they don't eat meat. I eat meat only twice a week, because I know that diversity is good for our health. And I'm not promoting eating meat at all. I hate Mc Donalds and Burger King, by the way. And I do a lot of things to help the poor, because I live in a country that needs a lot of help.

Why??? I'm only saying that I don't like what they are doing and that they should doing something for a better cause. It's only my opinion, and like them, I have the right to express it. That's all.

It bothers me, because it is not right!! Why are they using those signs with CM's image on it??? I don't want to know why CM is vegetarian!! Some people really believe in bullshit and they want to feel so good themselves only because the don't eat meat. C'mon! There are so many things so much important than being or not a vegetarian!! There are people dying of hunger all over this planet, those guys in Spain need to go and help the poor instead of doing such silly campaign!! I'm sorry if I'm ranting!!

People are deaf. There are so many songs with the same chords and progressions. I really don't care. Originality has disappeared from Earth, many years ago.

The only thing that I don't like is that here the cd doesn't have "Lost", the acoustic version.

I'm a true fan, yes!!! But I have to tell you something: If I had not liked this new cd, I would have been the first in saying that. I'm a very honest person.

Well, I'm not a female, but that it isn't an impediment to express my feelings. Some kind of music has made me cry over the years and I'm not ashamed of that. Why should I? And to be honest, some Coldplay's lyrics have touched me more (Lost) because the moment I'm living right now at this point in my life. But who has never cried at the movies, or listening to music or whatever kind of art??? Some critics that have criticized too much Coldplay is because they are not sensitive. They don't let their emotions flow. They like to be "hard" mens. They don't like Coldplay because they want others to be as hard as them. And CM and his band mates are very sensitive and common people. To please these non sensitive critics, Coldplay's members should be taking drugs or being rock stars or something like that.

I live in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I bought my first cd of Coldplay because many years ago I read an interview to Eric Clapton and he said that he liked a new band called Coldplay. I couldn't find the cd here, so I had to buy it at Amazon.com. Imagine that, I bought a cd without knowning anything about the band, just because Eric Clapton recommended it. Of course I'm a long time Eric Clapton's fan. Not only I wasn't dissapointed, I became a Coldplay's fan, here, when almost nobody know anything about Coldplay. And lucky me, I was living in Miami when I bought AROBTTH, and I saw Coldplay live there. And of course, here in Argentina, where they performed in a very small theater. That was awesome!!!

People, I just came from the mall. I bought one of the first copies of Viva La Vida that was released here in my country only 2 hours ago. I had been listening only to mp3s of Viva La Vida until this morning that I put the cd in my cd player. I'm finishing my second listening and I want to shout, scream, run to the door and tell everybody that this album is just AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!. By the time Lovers in Japan started I was already in tears!! Maybe I'm being too emotional but I couldn't stop crying. This cd is excellent. I won't make any kind of comparison against other albums. I love all songs in this cd, but of course, some have totally blown my mind. I had to came here and tell you. I hope most people feel like me!

That is the best advice that anyone that want to talk about VLV should take in serious consideration. People have to listen more and more to this new album. It's not as easy to listen as X&Y was. X&Y was more radio friendly and this new album is not that at all. And why in this world we have to compare both albums???? Both are great, and both are different to the other two.

Exactly!!!!!!!!!!!!! IMHO, that is a big proof that Coldplay has entered in a new level. The limits of the radio have been broken. I feel so good about it. Most of the songs that I like a lot from other bands are not so radio friendly, so what?? Those are excellent songs anyway. I listen to the radio most of my day, because its kind of company, I work alone at home. So I have a pretty idea about what the radio is about. VLV is big, too big for radio play.

This album is so excellent. Some of you are looking for excuses to don't like it. I was one of those that don't like the album at first. But know, after several days, listening once or two times a day, this album has grown on me in a way that I wasn't prepared at all. I'm amazed at this excellent cd. I love most of the songs, I can't stop singing songs like Lost, or Cemeteries of London, or 42. 42 is an awesome song. I didn´t want to sing that songs, I started to sing them without want it, it's like the songs have entered in my mind slowly and without any help of my part. When Lovers of Japan starts, I feel so excited, because the album has an in crescendo way that makes me enter in an emotional trip that makes me like it more. And then, "Yes" appears and it is kind of balsam, it makes me feel so good, its melody, its lyrics. People, English is not my first language so I can't describe how deep this cd has entered in my mind and heart. While I'm writing this post, I'm listening to "Yes" and it's like its atmosphere has took my place, it’s so beautiful, Chris sings so well in this song. What an excellent song!!!!!!!!!! It's not for radio; it’s not for casual ears, because it’s too long, it has a lot of changes, but people, our friends need to listening to a song like "Yes". Coldplay will have more fans after releasing this cd. The same has happened to me with Viva La Vida and Violet Hill. These songs have grown on me and now I like both a lot. You have to let this cd grow in you, stop analyzing it. These guys have worked a lot, and with one or two listening is not enough to appreciate it. Coldplay has entered a new level with this release. And I will stop talking about the past. I love Parachutes, I discovered Coldplay with it. I love AROBTTH, it was my first concert. Of course, I love X&Y. But those albums are the past. Now Coldplay has entered a new era. Will you be part of it???? I can't wait to buy this cd, I can't!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for your answer. It seems that there some fans that try hard to love the new songs. I know that we have to listen more than one time a song to like it or not, but to me, it seems that some people try too hard. It´s like: I have to like it, Its Coldplay!! But we have to be prepared for a weak album too. It could happen!!!

I'm not impressed with any of the new songs of Coldplay that I´ve listened to so far. I´m a big, big fan of Coldplay. I spent a lot of money to see them live here in my country (400 argentinian pesos, it´s a month salary for some people). I saw them live in Miami when I was living there. I waited for the last album almost sleeping beside the music store. But after listening to the new singles, what I can say, I´m not impressed. I remember when I listened to every single of the last albums, and I was so pleased, almost in tears. But Violet Hill or Viva La Vida, aren´t so good to make me feel that this next album is going to be a great album. Maybe I´m so excited about the new album, that I´m afraid to be dissappointed. I don´t know. I´m not complaining, I really want Viva La Vida to be a great album. But I´m not sure what is going to happen! Please, help me to relax!!!!!

I searched and I found this forum only because I was so angry with the review at rollingstone.com that I had to express my feelings! I'm so upset with the guy who wrote that awful review!!! I'm pretty sure that this guy listened to the album only once! 3 stars??? Why? The album has been growing on me, and I have to say that it is great!!! You have to do with this album the same like other great albums: Listen and listen it again! Its the only way. Nobody can do a fair review without listening carefully X&Y. I think that they at rollingstone hate Coldplay and they hate Chris Martin. And I think that they hate him because it obviusly someone who is a good man, in all the meaning of the word, he is not a "sex, drugs and rock and roll guy", like these stupid people at rollingstone like. Chris Martin, like Bono, has came to show to many that someone can sing meaningful songs and try to make a difference in this world. instead of being a drugs consumer and be a star in the world of rock and roll. X&Y is an excellent album and more and more people will like Coldplay.
