I was looking to see if maybe somebody had done any Viva La Vida remixes, seeing as there was a good Violet Hill mix by Cryptonites. Upon using Limewire I discovered a song titled "Young L feat. Coldplay- Viva La Vida". Naturally, the fact that there was a remix done by a rapper with "Young" in it piqued my interest so I downloaded it. Boy, this had to have been the DUMBEST and FUNNIEST remix i've ever heard. I'm quite interested... it's quite clear that strings provide the body and heart of Viva la Vida (the soul is Will and Chris), but here's the thing: On the official Coldplay television, one can see the gang playing all of their respective instruments. Now, this makes me curious - do any of Coldplay actually play an orchestral string instrument? Or is that all just staged, and is it actually performed by some stock orchestra? INTERESTED!

I went to the 9th September Paris show and the soundman played a remix of viva la vida which sounded so cool ! I assume it's an official remix of the song and i would like to get it but I can't find it anywhere... Do you know where I can get it ? Before I make my case let me make a few things clear. First, I think this is a great song in many different ways. The lyrics are beautiful; perhaps some of the best work we have seen come from Chris. I think we can say that about all three songs we’ve heard so far. Viva la Vida is the same way…the lyrics are wonderful. Secondly, the song is truly beautiful. Its musical intricacies are pleasant to the ear and the melodic highs compliment the depth and brevity of the lyrics. I found this clip on youtube after watching the one by Creeky Boards. IT's called If I Could Fly by Joe Satriani. http://youtube.com/watch?v=1ofFw9DKu_I The tune is so much similar if not identical and it's was written back in 92' as some of the comments claimed. I have read some fans find tt viva la vida lost its coldplay-ness in it. maybe the song is not written by them after all? So Coldplay pls tell us you have never heard of this song before, it's just freakishly coincidental.

Today something happened like what I read about the song yes. This afternoon I was improving on the guitar to Viva La Vida on my guitar. My mother who doesn't like alot of music, and wouldn't be caught listening to 'rock' walked in and inquired: "Why are you wrecking a perfectly good song, with a guitar?" I never thought this day has arrived but my mum offically likes a Coldplay song :D

Well there is no better place to request a critical review for my first remix (a cover) than this particular forum, no? For the record, (and the purists) I did not sing this myself out of disrespect, but only because they simply don't release acapellas, and I didn't just want to make a "drum beat over the top of" remix.
