Would "will call only" solve the ticket problem?
and if we're being really honest, its not so much the people who buy the tickets and resell them for a profit. its the number of corporate freebies that are given away and then sold on by the people receiving them. I wonder how much more space there'd be in the venues if you could stop the resale of those tickets?

Would "will call only" solve the ticket problem?
what it actually needs is government to take a stand and make ticket touting illegal. surely its in everyone's benefit for the people going to pay face value. if you're not paying £500 for a ticket you potentially have £450 spare cash to buy other things like merch, food, drink etc. how many people who end up buying on ebay etc end up having to forgo any extras they may want? so the official peeps win because more merch gets bought, the venue wins because it sells more food/drink, and the government wins because all of the above are taxed. and the fans win because they only get officially ripped off!

Standing Tickets - don't worry if your receipt has a row and seat numbers
This has come up a few times in the MEN & O2 threads. Mich has spoken to someone (Ticketmaster or O2, I forget which). The tickets have seat numbers so they can judge capacity. If you went through the standing option, and your receipt says floor, you DO have standing tickets.

if it doesn't give you a block letter then I'd say its just numbers for health & safety purposes. if its seated, they separate them into A-K or whatever. if the box wasn't somewhere in the roof, I'd check our old standing tickets for ouy. I've a vague idea they had seat numbers on. when we've queued for front row we've started as early as 7am. you had to choose links between seated & standing before selecting ticket numebrs etc, so I would have thought so.

Britain to be hit by SNOW in October... forecasters warn an early winter is on its way
it's Mich's fault. :p recently whenever she wants to see Coldplay before Christmas, it snows! I present last year's Liverpool Gig and 2009's Exeter gig as my examples

is that a sarcastic response, doubting the ability of these weather forecasters I've never heard about before?

I think I've worked out the pricing, but am not familiar enough with the O2 to know if the seating would be the same as Manchester. having thoroughly browsed ticketmaster, I think the £47.50 are the standing tickets and the seats are £55 & £65. the 2 MEN ticket pages are split into 1 with ticket prices at £47.50 & 1 with £55 & £65. which tallys with the 2 SECC pages which are labelled as Seated & Standing accordingly. therefore I'd suggest £55 is upper tier and £65 lower tier seats.

Britain to be hit by SNOW in October... forecasters warn an early winter is on its way
Britain is about to experience an early winter, with snow expected to arrive as soon as next month, forecasters have warned. Temperatures over the next three months will plummet to below average with one long-range forecaster predicting snowfalls in October. James Madden, of Exacta Weather, said: ‘I expect to see the first signs of some moderate to heavy snowfalls as early as October or November in certain parts of the UK. 'I expect December, January and February to experience below-average temperatures, with the heaviest snowfall occurring within the time frame of November to January across many parts of the UK. 'Huge swirly low-pressure systems also offer the potential for widespread disruption from heavy snowfall across many parts of the UK including the South, as they clash with the predominant cold air.’ He added that Scotland and the North would face the worst weather, including possible ‘blizzard-like conditions’. The UK and Ireland have also been forecast to experience extreme cold conditions and snow from the Arctic for prolonged periods. Netweather forecaster Paul Michaelwaite has also predicted ‘widespread’ snowfall as early as November. He told the Daily Express: ‘Over the past four years November snow has not been rare at all, and with temperatures below the average there is the chance of some widespread falls.’ Meanwhile, The Met Office has said that below average temperatures in October mean there is a chance of upcoming overnight frosts, which would be seen predominantly in the Midlands and south-east. And Weather Services International agreed that October, November and December would be hit with temperatures approximately two degrees lower than the average. WSI’s chief meteorologist, Dr Todd Crawford, told the Express: ‘We currently expect the coldest temperatures to be confined to western Europe.’ Last winter parts of the UK experienced up to 30 inches of snow and temperatures fell to -19C. The UK has already been hit by Hurricane Katia this month, which has left Britain’s clean-up bill at around £100 million, experts said last week. The storm was the worst Britain has seen in 15 years after winds of up to 80mph left a trail of devastation.
