Coldplay doesn't have the thematic range...
GOSH you're all SILLY! Is it worth it to draw comparisons between such a matured band as U2 and such a young budding new artist as Coldplay? mmmm...yes...but you have to keep that in mind: that one is much more seasoned than the other... Hmm...i wish i could make an educated statement on whether coldplay or u2 has more thematic range...but i dont know u2's music very well at all....but i would say that most bands have a limited "thematic range" and coldplay is no exception... But time and song-writing experience definitely help to develop that...which u2 has. Also, i think that varying song content helps to increase a band's thematic range. Coldplay's songs focus on love and romance and heartache (those are the ones that really get me... ) but take Dave Matthews...id say he has quite a wide range of sounds and his content varies from the story of the birth of christ to anti-war sentiments to the story of an old man and his "dreaming tree"...(i also think dave....um...uses....creativity-inducing... ... ...well, its called weed...) So I am sure with time we'll hear coldplay branch out into new musical territory....can't wait! GOSH that was long.... does anyone agree? -mmmmmatt

Will Coldplay ever be as big as oasis?
in the US... hmm... im gonna say, that coldplay is generally more popular than oasis was... hmmmmm....i think it boils down to the sound of the two bands' singers...chris martin certainly brings to the table a smooth sound and his signature falsetto can evoke a deep melancholly or rock out to power chords. I dont know if Liam or Noel's voices were as versatile...mmmaybe they were... hmmmmm....would it be fair to say that coldplay will be more musically influential?? I might just be biased tho...i feel like they're helping to resurrect the piano...i love piano.... but hmmmmmm...is coldplay's sound unique?? i would say yes...definitely was oasis's sound unique? i would say no...but i don't mean to discredit their songwriting, which i think it outstanding...just not a very different sound... hmm...does any of that make sense? paz, -Matt

Shakira stole "clocks" chords...
MY SECOND POST! oh joy! wow...look at all you! well...im a decent pianist...and in my opinion...i dont think she stole anything...It's a moderately simlar rhythm...but i imagine that its pretty hard to write a song that has a rythm that no ones ever tried before... ...theres only so much u can do with four notes and a shitty synthesizer...cmon now...leave the girl alone... Also, don't believe everything "valvula de escape" tells u... and Also, creo que shakira is hotttttt.... buenas tardes, mmmmmatty
