  1. ^ I agree. I also wanted them to play more from Parachutes, like Trouble and Shiver. And maybe Sparks or Spies. But then again they can't play every song, which is what I really want :P . I loved that they played Don't Panic! So great. Too short though, because the song itself is so short...
  2. ^ yeah it was the Sunday show. He said it before they started The Scientist. He said that on Saturday people weren't singing along to The Scientist and that the whole point is to sing along to this song. I think he said something like that people used to sing along to it all the time but now it changed or somethinng, maybe because there's a new album. I might be making that up though :P . And he said something along the lines of to please sing along to make them feel at least a little bit good about themselves when they leave L.A. a couple days later. Yeah, and he also said something about California, L.A., O.C., and how he knows we're too cool to sing or something. but he said not to be "shy",he said that about three times, haha. And then people didn't sing along! After he practically begged us!! Ugh. You could only hear the crowd when at the end of the song he yelled "oh!" and then the crowd "yeah!" and so on until it got really loud. but that's not even the song! So after that he was satisfied and said something like, "okay thanks, now we can come back home with an ounce of dignity (something like that...?). yeah, does anybody know what exactly he really said? Oh and I just remembered, does anyone remember when after one of the songs he said that was the best sing-along they have ever gotten? Was that Fix You, or In My Place? Not sure. but he was so totally lying! hahaha.
  3. ^ haha, my brother and I were in this line of cars waiting to go in, which literally didn't move. From waaay before the parking. People tried to cut but we blocked them :smug: . And it later turned out that we had VIP parking but I thought that was something more special and that ours were normal, at the end we didn't use them and that was pretty much a waste of $20... we parked way in the entrance, and I thought Coldplay was already starting because people were cheering and it was already after 8:30 so I thought for sure Black Mountain already finished. We freaked out and ran aaaaall the way through the parking lot to the amphitheater, everyone was looking at us like we were crazy but I just assumed that's because they are the stereotypical Coldplay fans and can't be bothered to run  . So we rushed to the bathroom and didn't even buy any food (we were starving), except one ice cream that my brother got. When we got to our seats, it started like more than 15 minutes after! And we never wanted to take the chance and leave for food because we were afraid they would start right then. then finally the lights closed and it began, and we completely forgot about being hungry until after, when we went to In-n-out :smug: . So alright then, I guess I can just go to another state... NY will be easy because I go there often! That's so stupid that in the O.C. the crowds are so dull, do they think they're too good or something? Ugh. I did notice that everyone looked sort of... the same. I think many of them were from the O.C. I bought a shirt and a poster after the concert! Here's the shirt: I like it! :laugh2:
  4. Haha, remember when someone through a bra onstage? That was so funny, they were so surprised! Chris said something like, " *laugh* holy shit! I think someone just through a bra!" and then "you know some of us are married.." and then he said something like that it's nice anyway or something. That was so great... I loved the things he said in between songs.
  5. LOL! I think he actually said that guy was the "sexual presence" in the band ;) :P
  6. Wow those pictures are amazing... I brought my camera and right when I opened it before the concert started it said it had no battery left and it shut off like right before they came on stage!! :disappointed:
  7. I went to the Sunday show, and I'm glad that I'm not the only one that thought the crowd was pretty lame. This was actually my first real concert, like with a good band, and I went with my older brother. We had really bad seats, like all the way in the back (two rows ahead of lawn, haha) and aaaall the way to the left. I don't even want to talk about why they are so bad, it's a pretty tramautic reason. It was just basically due to the fact that I have no luck whatsoever. But you could still see alright because it goes upward, so you're pretty much looking down. I was singing along to every single word of every single song and jumping and dancing and screaming and clapping until my hands were burning. But the people around me were just dead. Like literally. If it's really because they want to sit back and just hear the music, then why the hell did they go to a concert in the first place?! They can listen to their CD that way. If you go to a concert you have to go nuts! At least that's what I think. And then I couldn't hear anyone singing along in most of the songs, except towards the end. I thought maybe it's because I've never been in this kind of concert before and you can't hear people singing along when you're part of the crowd. But obviously not. It just really pissed me off, and I kind of got shy from dancing and singing when no one else around me did it. Except this one guy in front of me that was dancing sideways really strangely like some weirdo. he looked like he was doing it sarcastically, I don't know what was wrong with him. But anyway, I'm glad to see that this isn't what concerts are always like and that you guys were disappointed as well. I mean, I thought Coldplay were great! I actually liked that they kept messing up, it kind of made it more real somehow, because at the beginning I didn't really get that I'm actually finally at a Coldplay concert! And then after when we went in the car and listened to X&Y, it suddenly came alive! Like the songs suddenly seemed to have so much more energy in them. I don't know, they just all of a sudden sounded so much better. But it really wasn't fair for Coldplay to have this kind of crowd. I heard the Live CD and you can hear people singing along so loud. And I saw the Glastonbury videos and people were just going crazy the whole time. even in the Fix You video they were going nuts and singing along. That's another thing, at the end of Fix You, the crowd was supposed to sing the last part, with the "lights will guide you home..."!!, like they do in the video. I started singing and it was seriously dead silence around me, so I stopped because I got embarassed. And I know that the Fix you video was shot in the UK, and Glastonbury is obviously there, and probably the Live 2003 CD was recorded there as well, so now I have a goal to go to the UK once I'm old enough and see a real concert, with a crowd that actually has some frickin' energy in them! Not a crowd that doesn;t even know the words to the Scientist. The Scientist!! What the hell is wrong with them, who doesn't know the words?? Ugh, whatever, I still really enjoyed it though because I sang along to every word and made the best of it. I hope Coldplay aren't afraid to ever come back here :( Whoa that was long. Sorry, just had to express my frustration :/
